Theres been a couple threads in the past (like this one and this one of people showing off their hardware, and now I have a pretty decent set of gear to share.

First, at school:

This is my workstation in my supervisor professor's lab. While I don't acutally 'own' the towers or monitor, I have root access and they are exclusively mine to use for the next two years.

In the center, we have my 12" iBook G4 1.33Ghz with 1024mb PC2700 ram runnig OS X 10.4.2.

The black tower is a brand stinking new Pentium D (dual core) 3Ghz with 1024Mb PC2-4300 Ram running Gentoo Linux.

The purple tower next to that one is my SunBlade 1000 (which my reasearch is centered around) with two 900Mhz UltraSparc III processors and also a gig of some sort of ram running Solaris 10 (a Very, Very Expensive machine a few years ago, goes for ~$1000 on ebay now).

The monitor on the left is a Sun 21" (very high-end for a CRT) which has dual VGA inputs that can be switched easily between the two towers. I have it doing 1600x1200 at 85Hz.

And at home:

The tower on the top is hooked up to the boring old 17" CRT on the left. It's the Athlon 1600+ (1.4Ghz) with 768Mb of PC2100 and GeForce2 which I have been playing CS on the last few years. It is running Gentoo Linux now.

The tower on the bottom is my somewhat recently acquired Athlon 2400+. It has 1024mb of PC3200 and a Geforce 5500 256mb which is now my gaming setup. It dual boots between XP Pro and Ubuntu Linux. It is hooked up to the beast of a monitor in the center that I just got yesterday.

That's a Dell 2005FPW which I have wanted for a very long time now. It has the same LCD (made by Samsung I think) which goes into the 20" Apple Cinema Display, but has more feature and was alot cheaper (especially at the price I got it for). I tried some CS last night at the native resolution of 1680x1050 and took a few screenshots. I was quite thrilled at how clear things were at long distances at that resolution.

Totalling it all up, I have a combined 12.53Ghz and 4864Mb of RAM to my name. Very hot.
