New episode tonight... But you already knew that

I am wondering if someone can fill me in the time when it airs in the UK and on the East Coast so I know when I can expect to find a torrent.

Any last minute predictions for what will happen?

Um not quite sure which 'new episode' you're talking about, but the second series starts in the UK this coming Tuesday, and I'm quite looking forward to it Isn't it already halfway through Season 2 in the US?

I guess you haven't seen season 2 there. My bad. (I'd link to wikipedia but there are spoilers there)

Season 2 halted after episode 10 which was shown on September 23rd. Episode 11 begins tonight.

I thought what was airing on Sci-Fi tonight was the beginning of season 3. In any case, my TiVo is set. It starts at 10/9C (10 PM Eastern, 9 Central) according to Sci-Fi.com.

I'm watching the season 2 box set I got for Christmas on my train rides to and from work to re-acquaint myself with the going-ons. I forgot how chilling some of the revelations were! Season 3 (or the second half of season 2?) is gonna be good stuff!

Yeah it's a bit random. Why on Earth would they show S1 in the UK first and then wait even longer than the US to air S2? It's all messed up.

Luckily I didn't actually watch it on Sky One first time round. I bought the dvds a couple of months ago and watched the whole lot in rapid succession. Good stuff, but still not as good as Firefly

Edit: Apparently there will be ~20 eps in S2.

Wikipedia lists the titles of 17 episodes for season 2. I also heard awhile ago that season 3 is in production.

Having the episodes messed up like that for the US and the UK doesn't really make much business sense to me. If only there were some way you could use the power of the internet to stick it to them for causing such unpleasentness.

So I just watched my Tivo-ed episode of last Friday's BSG. That's some good stuff. I'm not feeling particularly eloquent at the moment, so I'll wait to post some comments until my brain is in gear.

Me and JB weren't too impressed with episode 1 of S2. It was ok, but there were some major plot holes and limited use of the large cast.

Yup. The one called 'Scattered' in case 201 isn't clear.

The best episode remains '33' for me. It's the only classic the series has produced thus far IMO, and I believe it won an award recently.

Absolutely awesome. Just saw Resurection ship # 2. This whole series just blows my mind every time I see it.

How long until 'Frak' makes it into websters? Someone e-mailed me the other day at work and actually used it in a sentence (saying that she was a little frakked up this morning).

I've got Resurrection Ship Part 2 Tivo-ed. Gonna have to watch that tomorrow.

My favorite from season one was Hand of God (Ep. #110). The commentary from Ron Moore (executive producer) on that episode was that it was the season's "Big Mac". It's the all out space battle that is entirely predictable when it comes to plot but is fun to make and watch anyway, and that you have to do once in a while to completely blow your special effects budget.

Except for yesterday's episode (#212), I'm all caught up now, but I have to go back and watch the first half of season two on DVD with the commentary tracks on. If you haven't picked up the box sets, it's worth it for that alone. Alternatively, I believe you can get the same commentary from the BSG iTunes podcasts for free (if you have the shows recorded so you can play both simultaneously). It's entirely worth it to hear all the behind the scenes stuff. For example, they had no idea where the whole season one Helo-and-Sharron-stuck-on-Caprica arc was going when they started it. Good stuff!

Hehe, Helo is my favourite

And I was going to go and watch some of the S1 eps with commentary but then I remembered I loaned all the dvds out to Pancho Strangely, the S1 uk set doesn't have the commentaries on the discs, so you have to watch them podcast style.

I think it's time your thread got hijacked....Jack Bauer style.

I hope you took time out from watching Battlestar to watch 24 because it kicked so much ass.

I kept seeing commercials for it...

but it wasn't in the Tivo schedule and I don't watch live TV anymore.

I'm not saying it's not good-- just that there's only so much room on the DVR's hard drive.

The fact that Rex Grossman sucks and couldn't finish that game earlier is not 24's fault.

Hopefully, you'll come to your senses and catch the 2nd half of the premier.

That's what I have been hearing, although I have never watched it myself.

I have heard it likened to Survivor -> kinda cool to begin with but gets real tiresome real quick

I imagine it still retains the same basic thrill you can get from watching any action movie, no matter how convoluted the plot. Hell, I just watched Smallville so I can't really whine about other TV shows...

New Battlestar tomorrow night! Woot!

Whoever likened 24 to Survivor needs a serious beatdown. 24 is a non stop thrill ride.
