In real life the shotgun is a good gun in the way they are using it.  But in cs it's just to unrealistic.  I mean in that situation, the guy is shooting people who are unarmed.  In cs you are going against guys with much greater fire power and stuff.  You know.....

in real life.  The ct's go at the t's.  Usually with 20 times the men.  And the ct's always win. And once the situation is over, they don't restart and go at it again.

I dont know much about guns in real life but if your talking about the glock the reason the glock owns is because

A. Its probably pretty cheap
B. It holds 20 shots
C. And if it does have a burst fire it must own

More shots the better.

It does have a burst fire ( i am 99% sure).  It is cheap, but it is very hard to break and barely ever malfunctions.  From what i know.  Check out the history of the handgun on the History channel.

It isn't made out of plastic.  It is made out of high grade polymer on the outside.  Then internals are still made of metal, i'm sure steel.

Otherwise, wouldn't glocks be making it through all the checkpoints?

Glocks are nice guns and you can have full auto glocks even.  They were designed for women and weak wristed men.  I"m a personal fan of the desert eagle, colt 45, and ppk.

High grade polymer= plastic i thought.  Just really really hard plastic.  And i thought it was obvious that the inside was metal, or else the heat would just melt it.  although the h&k usp is my favorite

Why should I buy a Glock instead of a HK/Sig/1911/Beretta?
The truth is, I can't tell you what gun you should buy because I don't know what your requirements are. Glocks are not the best gun for every purpose. I can, however, tell you why you should chose a Glock: reliability, durability, simplicity, trigger action, no manual safety, availability of parts & accessories and the GSSF.

Reliability - A well cared-for Glock is absolutely 100% reliable and shouldbe comfortable trusting your life to one.

Durability - Glocks will go on and on and on and on. There's no way you could wear one out in my lifetime.

Simplicity - It's the only semi-automatic handgun that is simple enough for you to work on. With no gunsmithing training you can completely take apart a Glock and replace any part in it. Try that with a HK or 1911.

Trigger action - Glock has the same trigger pull every time, all the time. No switching from double action to single action, no de-cocking.

No manual safety - This means less complication when drawing and firing and no question about whether the gun is on safe or off safe.  The reason police use if gun is dropped wont go off. The main advantage of the GLOCK "Safe Action" system is that is has no external safeties. Because of this, the user can fully concentrate on the tactical tasks required while being in a stress situation and does not need to think about any safeties to be deactivated, no safety to switch in an emergency!

Availability of parts and accessories - There are at least 5 web sites where you can order every single replacement part for any Glock, and literally hundreds of sites to shop for holsters, barrels, magazines and competition accessories. Try that with a Sig or Beretta.

  Safety (4 separate safeties)
Reputation (used by police and military around the world)
Light weight (frame and other parts made of polymer)
  High capacity (10 .45 rounds in a subcompact, 17 9mm
  rounds in a full-size)
Price (significantly less than a 1911, HK or Sig)
Fully functional at temperatures from -40• to +70• Celsius.

We can fire our glock under water in the game but not in real life!
However, any Glock -- even those not equipped with maritime spring cups -- will normally fire while submersed underwater. But doing so may generate excessive internal pressure and may cause the pistol to literally blow up. This is especially true with the use of high-pressure rounds (such as the .40 S&W/357 SIG) or hollow-point bullets.

I recall a reported incident where a Glockster on a boating holiday decided to show some friends how his Glock would fire underwater (because Tommy Lee Jones said so in the movies). He stuck his hand overboard, pulled the trigger and came back with a bunch of shredded plastic and a badly injured hand.

Another reported case was the Glockster who decided to try out his Glock 23 .40 S&W in the swimming pool after seeing pictures of Glocks being fired underwater on the web. He was totally submerged, with the gun, as he fired at a piece of wood on the bottom of his pool. The Glock did fire, the .40 S&W FMJ round left the barrel and went into the wood. The chamber also exploded and implanted shrapnel into his leg. Thinking that the water would muffle the blast, he did not wear hearing protection (the blast is actually about 4 times louder underwater). He is now mostly deaf in one ear and hears high-pitched tones most of his waking life.

I'm not going to start an arguement.

How do you know so much about the glock/guns?

Quote:

I think that any gun that is well cared for would be 99.9% reliable if not 100%.

I have a friend that owns a Walther PPK (a james bond gun) and it jams. He keeps it meticulously clean and has had it professionally serviced. Apparently it's a characteristic of them. Last time we used it we fired 150 rounds and it jammed 2 or 3 times I believe. Which makes it 98% reliable however it only takes one jam to get you killed if you were using it.

I have a USP .45 through which I have put over 1000 rounds without a single misfire. I had a Glock 23c with ported slide and it was a nice gun but too small for my hand so it was uncomfortable to shoot. There is no one gun for everyone. It depends on fit and on what you are looking for.

However, DE is a complete waste of money for most people and is like buying a huge truck. Pure compensation.
