Steam user ID problem - don't panic!

I have just tried to play cs today and got this message:
"You have been disconnected from the server.
Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket (server was
unable to contact the authentication server. 27)"
Had a look on other forums and it seems to be a problem just now. Hopefully Steam will get it fixed but it looks like a lot of people have had the same thing.
Also not many people in any of the servers just now.
Any of you guys managed to play recently or have you seen this problem too??

Did you try logging out of Steam and logging back in? This usually fixes this, and it isn't Steam-wide-- it's just you. Others have gotten this before (some of us pretty frequently) and reconnecting to Steam usually does the trick.

yeah i tried that - also tried deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file, as I'd read that can help fix it too cos it causes Steam to update again.
Unfortunately nothing worked yet - but i am hoping its a Steam error just now rather than my individual problem. It does look like other people have suddenly had the same thing in the last hour or so.
Have you tried playing recently?? Any success?
Hopefully it'll fix itself - but I'll be asking for help if its not working in the next day or so!!! (or if no-one else is having a problem  )

Read your title, you are a Newbie. Lol jk. It happens to everyone, your problem, and i'll bet 20 on it, that you are just closing steam and thinking that u are loging out. You have to actually log out of steam, then open and re-log into steam and it will fix it's self. It happens to lots of people, you juts gota do that to fix the 27, and the 35 error

however i do not see how u make a link between being new to cs to being a complete retard?!
of course i know the difference between closing steam and exiting and logging out fully!!! as i had already said to porter!
I wish you had said •20 or $20 as i mite have held you to that!  The problem was quite clearly not just with me as i have seen numerous posts from last nite on other forums complaining of the same problem - and even with admins making specific posts to say stop posting they are aware of the problem.
Anyway my cs and im sure a lot of others is working fine today

I reckon your problem was Jolt. I always get that message when playing on Jolt 1.6 servers. Although I haven't played there in 3 months.

oh how i laugh at the hypocrasy of your post!!! That is twice now you have implied that i am completely stupid.
I know that the problem is a common one and have experienced it mysef - where logging out and back in fixes the problem. However the other day this was not the case and I just thought I'd see if others were getting the problem and if so i was then trying to be helpful.
You are correct that there are a lot of posts all over various forums about this problem. But because im not as thick as mince i pay attention to things like the dates and times of when things are posted.
Please just accept that this was indeed a problem the other day and from now on dont be so quick to assume that everyone is dumb.
PS Grounded and JB don't think ur getting of lightly for ur cheek either - i'll be home this w/e and even hiding in france won't last forever

The ref had obviously never read the part of the rules that covers obstruction either - Anderson kept the ball in the corner for like a minute, Pearson was denied on the edge of the box and McNamara was floored inside the box. But when a butterfly grazes Jose Mari's arm he goes down and it's free-kick + yellow card. Awesome.

NOTE TO SELF: when speaking in code around mikey, the age old rule off abrieviating names to three letters is no longer sufficient. Will have to devise another plan to avoid detection by mikey (the super brain) bean - perhaps refer to people by their initials  - he'll never catch on to that one!
