Has anyone ever tried messing with the RGB values for the crosshair and come up with a decent colour for most maps?????

I have always used the standard green one and found it ok on most maps

Having played with the RGB values for fun the other night i pretty much decided that the green one is one of the best and that most of the other colours i tried were pretty hopeless

The one decent colour i did manage to make was a kind of bright blue - so im going to try that for a while....

The reason i am asking is that i tend to find mayself "losing" the crosshair unless i am concentrating and i lose concentration pretty easily!!!

I'm currently experimenting to find a nice pink X-hair.  I live a simple life.

let me know if you get a good one tommy

but i have a feeling pink is most likely to be the worst colour possible in terms of blending in with most map backgrounds

Yes - because so many maps are pink????  PanchoDaz scores own goal for EA Allstars!

Nah just kidding - you're right Rob, pink is pretty bad for bleeding into background.  I would advise against it.

Ya huh. Sure. I use a white crosshair. It's nice and bright and still annoying. I wish you could use the CS:S small crosshair in 1.6. It's tiny.

I use the light blue color x-hair, medium size, and with cl_dynamiccrosshair set to "0", so it doesn't resize when you jump/croutch/move, only changing sizes from gun to gun.

You can do that? I didn't know that.

i tried playing with the dynamic crosshair off (set to 0) but i didnt like it......

i like to see when ur accuracy is at its highest and just found that with it set to 0 its just very misleading....

I find that having a consistently sized x-hair is much less "misleading" then having one that's constantly changing sizes. dynamic crosshair was added later in development anyway, so i started without it.

I like the mx510 ALOT, i had one til it broke, then i yoinked my sister's mouse which is an older microsoft one, and that's what i'm using now.

Let me clear up one thing, I'm not trying to say playing with your crosshair one way or the other is bad or good, i was just inputting my opinion into the merry discourse of this thread.

Kaoz I don't know if it was the trip to the shed to play Indain peace pipe ceremony before I used it but it rocks!  Eni makes smoke signal to all gamers around Mx510 GOOD!

I am getting the ZBoard to free my lap top from iy's prison!  Right now I use a 2,500 dollar lap top and do not use it's WUXGA screen 1900 x 1200 resolution.  I have it running a 19" Crt.  I also have it laying flat screen off in my desk pull out draw with all USB full and another 4 Hub on my desk.  To grab my lap top and use it for movies, edeting, music or surfing the web is a risk that wires will be pulled out or I scratch my screen pulling it out.  Now with this new key board the fingernail marks on my keyboard on the lap top will stop getting deeper.  I will place it on top of my desk for easy unpugging and use, it can run two screens.  The Zboard has two USb hubs on it so my new Mx510 will plug directly into that.  I am taking my tower and Mx900 and hooking that up to the 55" HDTV in the living room.  Any suggestion or advice on that would be great it has two seperate computer hook ups.  I am getting ready to purchaase a chair that is like mesh so even in the summer I can sit for numerous ours and be cool.
It's why I do not play golf, CS can be an expensive hobby!  LOL!

I have an mx510. It's quality. I don't get tooled over by the loose scrollwheel on my old mouse anymore.

Edit: That zboard looks like a waste for a game like CS. You need like 6 keys in CS to do everything you could want, no need for an extra set of bindable stuff.

If you play RTS or RPGs, then I could see that coming in handy.

If you're old and have big arthritic fingers like Eni and I, it may be just the ticket.

Plus Surg Like I said now my lap top is accesible on top of my desk and I can use the proccesor and use the screen, I had it off before.  I needed a keyboard anyway because the puul out drawer on my desk is where i have my mouse and lap top before, now it will be just Key Board.  $49 bucks for a really nice key board it is very erganomicly correct, I love it!  Plus it gave me two extra two usb port which is now filled with Mx510 and My Dsp 500 Platronics headphones, way cool!  Skip is definately right the move buttons are huge and I have quick contact with 8 buttons and many more near by with no dead keys in between.
If you ask your dad and use just the regular key board it also comes with you can be cool like me and switch it after he goes to sleep with the uber cool Z BOARD!
