League Teams.

If you think you have a team ready or could certainly get a team together to participate in the CSReloaded League (over 7 weeks beginning mid July going into August) then show your interest here.
This is a feeler post. A test to see the reactions and guage numbers. Nothing is concrete.
Also, post if you don't yet have a team or a clan and want to be involved and we'll try and set something up. All regs should get involved!!

I was kind of hoping that you guys could maybe get two teams out of your ranks. I don't want you to get spread too thin though nor do I want you any of you be left out.

Miscreant and I were gonna be a 2 player team in the event a 2v2 tourney, but since this is 3v3, we could pick up someone if they don't have a team. I haven't spoken to Miscreant on this, but I'm sure we would take anyone who is available.

Well Team Clansareformuppets currently consists of myself, SG and PanchoDaz but both of them say they're going to be away for certain parts of July, August. Filthy slackers. How do we cope with temporary absences?
PS Kaoz and Nittany are only allowed to fill their teams up with first timers who don't know what key defuses the bomb.

The League Outline permits the addition of new players during the run so if there is a temporary absence you can call in a new player and get him up to speed with your tactics etc. There is a 1 day clearing period to avoid shameless on-the-night mercing though.
Absences won't be such a problem if you get a reserve player or two.
Also, there is leverage to reschedule matches (within reason) so perhaps you could play some matches in advance and some at a later date.
Concerning the Kaoz/Nittany team - if you guys are playing together I may have to break out the patented Justboy uber-pwnsauce and akr. (That's me and Primer and not sure who else yet) will take you both down a peg or two. Or three. WE FEAR NOONE!!

well, i'll consider pulling out of the tournament, i wanted to play with nittany as he is a very dear friend to me IRL and i have fun playing with him- skill aside. I can sorta see where you're all coming from though... I need to think on it.

I've played like 6 cal matches and didn't even finish out the season because two people left the clan and nobody wanted to continue on w/o them. Haven't played in cal since and that was two years ago. We aren't teaming up because we want to destroy everyone. John and I are both casual players now. We have lanned together probably close to 100 times. We hang out together and do stuff together.
That is why we are playing together, TO HAVE FUN, and it seems to me you guys are only in it for the sake of winning. Why else would you complain? I don't care if we win or lose, let us forfiet every match to our opponents. I DON'T CARE. I just want to play with my friend and have a good time, but if that gets in the way of you guys winning, then complain more and John will quit.
Tuck your tails under your legs and run because you might get owned in a for fun league. It is just sad and I hope your attitude doesn't reflect the rest of csr.

First, I don't care about winning. I played on a baseball team that didn't win one stinking game. 0-15 I still showed up to every practice, every game, and ran for every foul ball or ground ball I hit to the 3rd basemen. Why? It because I figured if our pitching held up we had a chance (EDIT- We had lost a lot of close games due to pitching). Obviously it never did. Here we don't stand a chance. Based on my experiences, from the few times I've played against you and/or kaoz when either of you had a comptent team member, I was destroyed. I stood no chance, it was straight up not fun. I don't know about you but getting killed before I can fire 5 shots isn't very fun. Sure I might get a kill here or there, but I know when I see one of you, I'm going to die. Now put the two of you together and a third who I suspect is someone you know that is equally good, well I'd get my ass handed to me. Now I'm not one usually to back away from things, but when I see something that isn't worth doing, I'm not going to partake in it. All that I asked was you be on different teams. The other day I was playing and the teams were me, bayne, miscreant(?) against druz and some randoms on dust. It was a great game watching bayne and druz go at it. Before when they were on the same team, we got destroyed it was no fun and a few people left. I stuck around despite not having fun because I wanted to play.(EDIT-Now I have no desire to play standard maps as I'm losing interest in this game rapidly.) If its too much to ask of you guys to play on different teams, then fine I'll accept that. And assuming I can't have fun looking at pretty scenary (custom maps), I will take myself out of the tournament. Parity never hurt anyone. Look what it did for football.
I understand totally that your great friends in real life and would love to play together. I would too if my friend was amazing though I also would be considerate of the other players involved in a for fun tournament. Anything I ever ask of people, I would do the same. I ask people better than me to balance the teams, because when the ask for the same deal, I switch if I can help balance things up. For me this isn't about pride (if you don't find my statments sincere, then oh well I'm sorry you can't know me in real life), this is about nothing other than having fun. Now if you guys think that the only way you can have fun is to play on the same team and beat the hell out of us, then by all means do it and have the time of your life. Being destroyed is never fun.
EDIT for the second time. Look at my HLSTATS against you, kaoz, bayne, and biggums. DAMN I'M GOOD.

Being destroyed = losing opposite of winning. Not wanting to lose = wanting to win. What kept you going throug losing in that story? Wanting to win! Do you think I was always at the level I am now? I got destroyed for a long time and I'm still here. I found playing the game fun and when I don't find it fun, I don't play it or I uninstall it. I'm sorry being slightly skilled hurts your enjoyment so much. Why don't I use arrow keys and enter.
Am I not the one who is looked to to switch teams and does so without complaint? This is a going to be a league, John asked me if I wanted to form a team with him just for fun and just for the Summer. I wanted to, so we did. Then this league came along, and so we decided to play together. If you don't want to play, the maps are boring you, and cs is boring you, well then don't. There is no need to try to brand us as doom and gloom ruining it for everyone. We are some of the few regs that are actually willing to play in this league.
Some how, we have already taken all the potential fun out of this league when not a match has been played. I'd say it isn't us that have done harm; only your attitude towards our involvement.

Yes and we appreciate that you're willing to play  And I don't think you're trying to ruin it. However I think a little common sense is in order. I'm actually quite surprised that you wouldn't want to play against each other instead - surely that would be more fun from a good player's perspective?

Why else would I complain? My answer IS about fun. I would know going into this league I wasn't going to win; that doesn't bother me. There are just too many players here that are way better at this game than me, but I would have fun playing against them. I wouldn't have fun playing against you and Kaoz, and I can say that because I already know I don't have fun playing against you and Kaoz. You two are just too formidable when you're on the same team. I can barely handle one of you at a time.

That's another thing. Each team would only have to play them once (and probably lose). We could just come up with the "Obvious Kaoz and Nittany's Team First Place Award" and then give the "Second Place (but really First Place if you Don't Count The Leetness of Kaoz and Nittany) Award" to the team who gets thrashed by them the least.

Also, it's not always fun to just plain win, as SG pointed out. I think what Nittany is trying to pin on us is trying to win, which is almost always fun, and what we're all looking to do. It's the process that's enjoyable, not the outcome.

here's a crazy idea as long as this is just for fun why not...
Handicap the teams like a golf tourney using peoples KPD ratio so that each team has a high middle and low KPD player?
I'm probably not going to be able to play in this league but in my opinion Kaoz and Nittany should be able to be on the same team. I know they will most likely own whomever they play but if you exclude them, then do you say that Biggums and Bayne can't play together too or any of the top players for that matter.

btw i do believe one of my first kills ever on csr was a rediculous hs on kaoz - two minutes later he'd left the server!!  (i mean i'm sure he'll say he left cos he'd been playing for too long or something, but i know its cos he was scared!)
Although my skillz, *cough* luck, have somewhat gone downhill since then.

My god people let them play on a team if they want to. Sg I really dont know what your problem is. If they are real good friends in real life and they want to play togther so be it.
In fact they are the guys that I really wanted to play agianst. Even though our chances are slim i could care less, these guys make the game interesting. Ill be happy if we can pull off a couple of rounds from them.
Anyways TheeKiller, ThimbTrigger, Trickster, Enialator. Im sure one of use wont be able to make a match so we can have another fill in. Unless im mistaken Skip said hes pretty busy over the summer, and might not eb able to attened these matches. So we have 4 people, and im not sure how this is going to work if they all want to play.

Yeah, I see what your saying about my post being contradictory. I forgot to mention, as to me its implied, that I love baseball. In fact I plan on walking out of my job (I'm 16) that pays pretty well to go to a baseball game. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that. But sure it would be nice to win, but I don't care if I do or I don't. I probably should stop throwing analogies but here's one more than maybe will illustrate my point. When final exams rolled around I had a chem exam(Super Team). I couldn't possibly get an A(win) in that class, best I could do was a B (lose). Why bother studying(trying &/or particpating)? Same thing here, don't know if you see what I'm saying or not.
To save everybody the trouble, I'll stop bitchin' and moaning. Play whatever maps you so desire. Have what ever teams you want. Kaoz, Nit and whoever your third is go have fun kicking everyone's ass. I just won't play.
Sorry everyone that I cared and tried to make things worth playing in. Sorry that I complained about the maps. I'm especially sorry that I couldn't convey my views properly. I'm really sorry Pancho and Grounded that I'm bailing on this, your great guys and all. I'm sorry that I wasted your time. Its not worth it.

I just want to make it clear that the organizers are not discriminating against anyone here. Nobody is going to be KEPT from playing just cause they're good-- or cause they're bad, or for any other reason. I only brought it up because I know I won't have fun against a team like that, and if this tourney is supposed to be about having fun, then I'd better sit this one out.

Everyone calm down and lets not have ourselves a soap opera.
Teams can be made up from whoever wants to play together.
Kaoz and Nit - don't get angry or guilty about wanting to play together.
Surge - if you're not playing because 1 of the 7 teams has 2 good players in it then that is absurd. We want you to play in this league because you are one of the most frequent players at CSR and a cherished regular.
Also to Surge - complain as much as you like mate. I'm taking on board your opinions and nothing gets taken to heart as a put-down.

For me, one bad apple can spoil the bunch. But don't worry about me, and don't waste your breath arguing with me, just accept that statement as it is no matter how absurd you think my viewpoints are. We obviously don't see eye to eye, and if everybody else is fine with how you have it set up and playing against the CSR Supergroup then go for it. Everybody go out there and have a hell of a time and make it the best CSR event ever. I'll just withdrawl and everyone be happy.

It all comes down to how John feels about it. I respect everyone for giving their opinion even if I don't agree with it at all. I just remember not being allowed to play with my friends time after time on the old csr for no reason what so ever, even if we were on different teams. I won't get into the lengthy history of all that was done, just be thankful those people don't run the show anymore.
My idea of fun is playing with friends. I'll rarely play alone and if I wanted to play against better people I'd join a clan. I don't care for that and if us playing togehter ruins your fun then I don't know what to tell you. I'm not going to apologize for John and I being better then most the people here.
I'm glad to see that many of you agree.

I've thought about it and I have mixed feelings.
1) I do think anyone should be allowed to play on anyone else's team.
2) I think in the interests of gamesmanship, the best players should elect not to play with each other. It's all very well for the other better players to say 'bring it on' but for the people much further down the ladder it's a different story. I certainly know what it's like to play a full match lose 12-0 and fail to get a single kill. It's not nice.
Having said all that, if the decision is made to allow any combination of players in a team, you won't hear another word of complaint from me

I don't see why one team that has both myself and Nittany will counterbalance things so hugely, biggums, bayne, druz, justboy will all be playing and are all monster players. any of them could take a game versus Nittany and I.

Yeah, Scarr, Skip and Enialator!!!! I think that this could be the sleeper team! Yo Killer! You crazy, don't think Enialator is going to sign up! I'm down, I'll join anybody's team, show me where to sign on the dotted line!
As far as the rest of all the other post about who should, who should not, teams this teams that, come on! There is always going to be somebody on top or a team that totally kicks ass, that's the thrill of it, the possibility that one of those awesome people happens to fart in the middle of a round and pass out, or spill extremely hot coffee in the bad region, cramps, the power cord gets tripped over, the mouse battery dies, a bee stings them in the eye, or the ceiling fan comes down on them, microwave explodes, somebody put a laxative in the brownie mix! I personally am making up CSR voodoo dolls and will be inflicting mayhem tourney time! Oh joy!
