New old plugins

Alright, I have a list of plugins that might benefit our admins to have installed.  These have been chosen from problems that have occured in the past and recently and should help us do whats needed :

plugin_adminshoot - Good old command to see if someone is running anti-recoil or some other type of firing script.

plugin_pablo_mute - Mutes their mic

plugin_userinfo - Shows the names the person has used since this plugin was installed

plugin_cavey_adminlog - Logs "all" admin commands that are used

plugin_psychosis_base - replaces plugin_base.sma, when a kicked person comes back, it tells you they have been kicked recently.  Good for those who change their names after a good kickin.


Some of these will need some editing and some extra work before they are installed, so I thought before doing all that, I'd see what you guys thought.  I definatly feel some of these will be useful for those situations where we just need to give the trouble makers a shove in the right direction.  Lemme know and I'll get them ready ASAP.

i'm not sure i understand admin_shoot...how would an admin use it that?  what would we(admins) see, and how could we tell if they were indeed using said script.

-->To be honest with you, I never was very comfortable using fireatwill-style commands, as interpreting the results is akin to lie detector tests in my eyes...you can get a feeling from the data, but it could be totally off.

It unbinds the victims keys, makes them jump once, then stand there and fire for 20 seconds.  You should see them jump, land then fire continuously.  If not, they are using something in their configs.  It will also let you have a nice example of their gun spraying all over the wall.  The admin pages will explain this more, but they are not up and running as of yet.

Yes, it makes them empty an entire clip... Ive had alot of experience with this plugin, and I believe it is extremely valuable. Its perfect to see anti-recoil hacks, or auto switch scripts for the AWP... etc.

I would also like to recommend admin_listen. This one is a tough decision however. It allows admins to see all text, dead, alive, ct, t, everything. Where as this can be extremely useful in catching racial slurs, swearing, all the stuff we want banned, it also brings along the problem of the admins knowing the tactics of the other team  Just something to think about

Yeah... they could, but not everyone has mics... but I still think that this plugin is something to consider

Agreed.  I thought it was a very useful tool back when I was admining back at the Nest and I don't think that we'd have any problems with our admins being honest and good sports about being able to read the text.  I wouldn't call any of the admins stat players so like I said, I don't think it's something that would bring up a great deal of conflict.  Even still, as you said, consideration is necessary.

although it still is a huge decision b/c people still do communcate which way to go via typing and stuff.  If i am playing on a map, i like to be the leader and stuff and tell where to rush or camp and to warn people where a huge mass of them are coming or where there is no one there.  If i see this stuff, i wont be able to do such things b/c i would have foreknowledge of it.  Like if i know they are going to the B bomb site and i am at A, i am goin to find it pointless for me to plop my ass at A, you know what i mean?? 

However, the counter to this is just to not use it all the time or only when there is suspicion that slurs or cursing, etc is goin on or if someone reports it happening.  And come to think of it, most people who lead and say what direction to go usually do use voice com and not typing anymore..hardly anyone does.  So maybe it will be a great thing

Yeah, actaully, using the plug in it is very simple to turn on and off.. so that would work well... admin_listen on admin_listen off

I have a custom version of admin_listen that is pretty handy. Spectators see everybody's chat--alive and dead, dead CTs and Ts see everybodys chat, but living Ts will only see normal 'say's from other living players and normal team_says from other living Ts. I'll get it installed. This will only apply to those people on the Admin Team though.

I will look into adminlog tomorrow, I'm sure I know why it failed. Mute, I have no clue about.  I'll check on it again later to see possible causes.  psychosis, I havn't touched cuz I have to find the new plugin_base.amx and copy over the code into it. 

Any extra lag, lemme know.  If you know how to use this stuff, have fun.  If not, then please let me know so I can teach you.

You are now able to mute players at will.  Just so you guys know, when you unmute them, they have to restart CS to get the voice comm back.

Oh, I also forgot, which commands do we want to watch?  We can keep a file of any commands that we want.  If anyone knows small, I also have a tiny project that I need help on.

You already know I'm decently handy with it (having written a number of un-released plugins myself, and having edited dozens more to suit my needs), but I'm going to pass on this one in the hope that I can finally finish the iMS soon.

The plugins you have that are failing....

Most prolly they need to be recoded to adminmods updates. They were written for outdated versions of adminmod, and since the code in Am and the hlds engine has changed some the plugins will prolly need to be adjusted accordingly....
