Enough people have tried it for me to start a post with any comments on it.

I thought it was pretty cool. I doubt you've put these kinds of finishing touches in yet-- but the textures looked too much alike. It seemed like the whole map was one color. It could stand to have more variation. Otherwise it played pretty well. Kinda disturbing how the whole map is floating (and it's annoying to fall off), but I can't see many ways around that.

Yeah I compliained about the lack of color, I believe he's taking care of that.

And the fall off part, just make it kill you, which I believe is what he is doing.

I think you may be able to gather a better semblance of it being realistic if the map was surrounded by a rockface, rather than sky, as Porter was talking about. If I elaborate slightly, it would look like the map was set inside a gorge, and I believe this would look much cooler - Kinda like militia's use of rock faces.

Yeah, I see where Alk's going (good to see you around here again mate!), but I'm on the fence about how well it would work. On the plus side, you've got improved believability and not having to worry about falling off, but on the minus side you lose the feel of being on top of a mountain, and the cool sniping spots at the spawns and on the corners of the map.

Yeah I wanted it to feel like it was high up. Plus no extra rock faces = nice low polys Btw I am still working on this in fits and starts. Everything inside the citadel is being changed.

The map looks cool. I like the way some guns are layed out on the table so you can pick them up. Although i did jump off the side to try and kill myself only to find i could walk on thin air. I always thought i was unique

I'd never actually played this one Stu but it's on this comp and I had a look.  It's pretty cool.  Especially the spawn areas.  It was slightly reminiscent of Ultimecia's Castle in FF8.  Especially the sort of floating entrance points.

The whole point of this map (yes, there is one) was to have the teams spawn with random weapons. Now if I could only finish the geometry I could get down to actually doing that...
