Im making an awp map for source...and every single time I test it (as in running right out of hammer), atleast 3 people join 
I guess awp_sex is a cool name huh?
edit: keep in mind that its like 3 am EST

Do you want to test it without people joining? Offline mode is the way to go.

Yeah thats the problem, for some reason when you run a map directly out of hammer in source, it creates a server that other people can join...

Well if you go Play Games -> Counter Strike, then New Game you can set a bunch of options and stuff, presumably including password etc. but I've never needed that. In the past we've tried connecting to each other's comps for map testing but it's never worked. Are you on a static IP?

no, this is in source...and when i elect to allow hammer to run the map fresh after compiling, it elects to create a server that allows other people to join. I know how to get around it, by not allowing hammer to run the map...its just amusing to me that people actually join at 3 am on a local server
