It seems as though the 80mm fan on the back of my shuttle has stopped working.  The power supply fan works though.  I just bought a new 80mm fan on newegg for $12.  Any other suggestions as to why that back fan has stopped working?

edit: nvida says my case is running at 90c (after being on for 20 mins) while the system is running at 40c

weird?

..shutting down immediately

Sometimes the fan jacks on the motherboard stop providing juice randomly. They must burn up or something. It's happened to me before.

Try plugging the fan into a different connector if you can. If not, you can buy a fan adaptor to plug into one of your drive power connector to power it.

Hope this helps.

I've looked for a different connector, I can't seem to find one..do you have a link to that adapter you're talking about?

This is what they look like:

It just borrows some currant from the drive power cable. They are only about $0.99 from what I see online. You should be able to go to a specialty computer shop and pick one up. A couple came with my powersupply when I bought it.

There is one problem that I just thought of. It is likely that your fan is variable speed, and this will not allow you to do that since the fan is no longer hooked to the motherboard.

What is the model number of your shuttle case? perhaps a better solution can be found.
