Can someone, in english, tell me exactly what I need to enter into my .cfg that will enable me to do exactly what lastinv did in such a way that it will not duplicate the apparant crash-causing bug that the grenade/shield bug is causing?

Plus,  tell me why my hud_fastswitch doesn't work and I still have to "fire" a weapon to equip it?

well, i do not believe there is a way to simulate "lastinv" without producing the bug problem, as to fastswitch...

"hud_fastswitch 1"

that's the command you need, it might be something weird in your CS, i'd try doing it manually in "Options"
