could there be a "latest posts" section - this way people wounln't have to check every thread...but...it's only a suggestion

if you go to the reall CSReloaed home page, NOT the forum page, there is a small section for this, and you can "mark as read" button, so you know which ones you've seen, and which ones you haven't  Hope this helps, and or answers your questions.
