Auto-switching

I bumped into a couple of people who thought that the coded systems that force people to switch sides to keep the team scores most even overall was very interesting and made the game more fun.  As I know CSR's objective is to already keep the teams even, should we just force this to happen, or what?  Anyway, just thought we could get some opinions and ideas on here.

honestly, we are going to have many admins in the server and if they sence any unevenness, they can switch people manually.  I say that we first see how things go with admins making sure teams are fair.  People also switch on their own to make it fair as well.  If there are still serious problems with uneven teams, THEN try to install PTB.  But untill then i would say leave it off.

i have a couple problems with PTB anyway.  1) was too militaristic  2) wouldnt let you go on selected team even if the teams were even or if they were say 7 on 4

You all already know my stance about PTB-- it is the spawn of satan in software form.

People don't really want totally even teams and scores! What if every soccer game always ended as a tie because every time a team was scored on the referees let them kick a free goal to "even things out"?  ...  In order for anyone to win, someone has to lose. The losers get by because they know there will always be a "next time," even in CS. This is just life, and doesn't need any kind of program to overrule it in a game.

PTB is so good at "balancing" things that you never feel like you're doing well, even if you're the best person on the server. Because if that's the case, PTB switches you back and forth between teams every damned round. It defeats team spirit and team momentum when everyone is changing sides all the time. And then of course Ayo's points are valid too. It was buggy software. Half the time (or more) it won't let you join the team that has fewer rounds-won: which is be definition the losing team!

Please note I'm not saying anything in particular about intentionally stacked teams. These are different story, and are another good reason why we have admins as well as many normal players who are good sports and will help even things out on the server.

I can live without PTB, as long as people are willing to balance out teams.  Most CSR-caliber folks are willing to even things up if asked.  However, if scores are getting stupid like 15-1 and noone is changing teams, don't even think about complaining if you get "placed" on the other team.

well thanks neo.  i do belive that if it gets out of hand, an admin can switch it up to make it even or the people will switch if asked or out of the kindness of their heart.  PTB has a lot of flaws and is a big hassle.  As porter said, there has to be a winner in a game, why have it COMPLETELY even ALL THE TIME.  Thats crazy.  As i said, an admin or a person can easily even the teams at will.  As neo said, why have a machine do something that an admin can do just as easily.
