Tenshi and I have FINALLY finished the new map packs! That means there will be two custom maps inserted into each day's rotation. In order to help all you regulars prepare for this, I will be making the map packs for each day available soon. Then in a couple days we will update the map cycles to include the new maps. I highly encourage you to download the map packs as opposed to downloading the maps in-game. I also highly encourage you all to install these packs before you update the rotations. It will save everyone a lot of complaining.

I've already compiled a csr-maps_all pack actually, and I will definitely add cs_reloaded_b2 (and b1) as long as Slight, Deuce and Grounded have no objections.

Campus networks--and broadband upload speeds specifically--really blow! The map pack upload is cranking away at a solid 35KBps, but it still less than half done! I mean, it's only a hundred megabytes people!

And this whole "asynchronous" deal-- that's crap. I don't want to have to pay $90 a month for a "busniess" connection that will give me decent upload speed. And even then, it's only 512Kbits each way! What's with providers assuming all I want to do with my DSL is download porn from Kazaa?? 128 Kbits up?? That's only twice as fast as a bloody modem! You know how LONG that takes to do ANYTHING?? Especially next to a 1.5Mbit download rate?!? Gah! I'm having an aneurism.

Anyhoo, maybe by the time I come back from class this afternoon I'll be able to post links. Sheesh.

That's it! The new map packs are ready for downloading! You can get today's map pack straight from the link the forum header, or you can go to the Downloads Page and downloads packs for other days. Just for Neo, I've also uploaded a "full" map pack, that contains all 14 new maps in one ZIP file. This one weighs in at 48MB and is available from the downloads page, or from right here.

I will adding these new maps to the mapcycle sometime this week, so please download and install them ahead of time!

Porter as an admin note, can we can get a list of "voteable" maps, feel free to leave off scoutzknivez and what not, but i know that biggums has mumbled something about de_clan1_mill and de_clan2_fire or whatever...

is that list that you sent me yesterday a complete one?? 

sorry, just not sure where we are at there.

Every map that is installed on the server (some 150+ maps) is votable. While I think there was some issue with AdminMod's map voting code at one point in the past, I can't recall if it still exists. Every map from the new map packs is already loaded on the server (and has been for the past five months) and listed in the maps.ini file.

I would appreciate the Admin Team trying a couple map votes via the admin_vote_map command to confirm proper operation for me though.

Seeing as I've been recovering from a violentl spewing (American translation: barfing, hurling, chucking up) incident the past few days, I haven't checked the forums at all so this was a nice surprise

The only map I can forsee any problems with is cs_siege_apc - the apc was removed due to excessive teamkilling in the first place. Of course it will be a lot more fun than the debacle that is scoutzknivez...

We noticed that when we were testing the map, and I suspect it might get replaced very quickly for exactly that reason.

i think cs_greenhouse would be a good replacement, it's an interesting map i think... I'm also surprised that no one wanted cs_mice_final in there either.  But I'm very flexible.

so the list at http://www.csreloaded.com/maps.html is a COMPLETE list??

If you have to replace map might I recommend de_museum. Have had a lot of fun playing with my friends on that one.
