CS as it was meant to be...
« on: September 26, 2004, 12:34:59 PM »

Like the title of the post hints at, an "event" will be held where all weapons and FF will be enabled. This a rare opportunity where you will have the opportunity to play with FF, and to use both the AWP and shield on CSR. Basically we will be playing CS the way it was intended. The idea behind this departure of CSR norm is to try something different and have fun.

The "event" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2 starting around 8 PM EST. In a departure from previous events, the game will not be passworded. Everyone is welcome, though I'd still like to have an idea of who will be attending.

Normal CSR rules still apply. Keep the swearing to a minimum and respect your fellow players. People are still expected to try and keep teams even and play for objectives. In addition, abuse of FF will not be tolerated. Do not go about shooting your teamates in the back of the head, as you will be punished.

But enough about rules, I hope we have a good turnout and great time. So come on out and support the server!

Sounds like an excellent idea - I don't think I'll be able to make it because of the time but I hope its a success!!

I've actually been wondering if you guys ever try and organise friendly clan games?

Couldn't we have an hour or so of 5 (or 6) aside of say Bs vs Wumpa and CSR vs Guardian.  If the numbers were hard to find then maybe it could be like CSR/Bs vs Wumpa/Guardian, or whatever.  I just think by organising an event even if its very informal then theres a good chance we can get a good group of us together.

All the best fun is had when you get a big group of people who are having a bit of friendly rivalry without being too serious!

The Bs server is always available for us to take on any of the other clans.

I personally would like a Wumpa vs Bs match. It was alot of fun when we played them in the tourney.

Yeah wew were having fun and had 6 on six to 8 on eight till a particular Admin changed the map.  I mean peopl said no to Bikini and still plays it anyways and bomm were back to an empty server, what a joke, idiots just never learn I guess.

Hi, my name is Enialator and I have problems realizing that if a question appears on your screen asking if you want to play bikini, and even if I click "No", other people might click "Yes". I also have problems realizing that if the map therefor changes to bikini, chances are more people voted for "Yes" then "No". I also have problems with accusing certain admins of things they haven't done.

And on a side note, I also have problems determining the difference between Justboy and Deuce while in server. Which is odd, because we all know how much more sexier Deuce is then JB.

Twice we had 7v7 while I was on. And you can hardly expect a massive turnout - the only people who know it's an 'event' are the people who read the forums i.e. generally the people who play in the server anyway. I thought it was fun though.

Question: I seem to remember being able to search for servers based on FF settings but it doesn't seem to be an option anymore

As for maps, well I was on for a couple of 2 hour stints and played all the standard ones: aztec, inferno, office, cbble, dust2 (twice). We played leetskeet for a while (maintaining 5v5) and I logged off the first session just as assault_upc was about to start so it's not as though it was a custom map fest. If an admin had been grinding through official maps for several hours you can hardly blame them for wanting a little variety. And if they put up a vote, and it passed, then there's nothing wrong with that at all.

What troubles me the most is that the list of maps people are willing to play is ever-shrinking. nuke seems unpopular (even though it's great), chateau and piranesi are always skipped if there's an admin present... it's a no win situation.

I tought I was pretty nice.. I like the awp and FF on. Shield sucks so bad. Personnaly I think that CSR should remaind like that. Some of you dont like AWP but Its a small price to pay if there is people actually playing in the server.

ps: Stop you freaking fight are you all kids or what... just get along. I dont know about here but at Edit-Strike admin have a better behavior than some admin in here. Admins should always respect there members and are there to stop fights not start any by editing people post or what ever is going on in this forum. Admin or mods showing such behavior would lose the privilege in 2 sec if it was up 2 me at CSR. Because frankly they are not helping. Just my 2 cents..

Ok, 7v7, but it didn't stay that way too long. People seem to avoid this server like the plague. I haven't seen a full game on here in ages, though I also had fun when we had a decent crowd in here. I have no beef with either the shield or the awp. Except when people sit in spawn all of dust2 and camp with it, then it sucks.

Maybe.

Indeed it was an admin_vote because **I** put it up. I was sick of playing the standard maps. I mean playing the same maps over a four hour period sucks, playing those maps over a four minute period can be a bit much.

It passed because apparently other people were also interested in playing something different.

I personally am willing to play most maps (nuke is the exception as it can rott in hell) but most people aren't so I try to do what other people want when those dreadfully unpopular maps roll around.

Well then you apparently don't understand the concept of a vote either.

I also see that both of you are in the same remedial English class. Though I think only one of you belongs there.

But anyway, here is the lesson for the day: If you want someone to give you the time of day, take the time to make your post worth reading. That means being clear and consice and making as few spelling and grammar errors as possible. Effort is what counts here. People will then read your post believing you might have something intelligent to say. This could lead to people taking you seriously and showing you respect.

CLASS DISMISSED!

I'm done with guys like Deuce, Surgeon, it's like dirt on the bottom of a shoe. Accept that some are just they way they are.  I am glad that guys like Pancho from Scotland and Supa from Canada do not get english 101 comments.  I will stick around once and a while for these really cool cats and good CS players.  I will stop in from time to time pit my skill against the foe here, but mostly will be looking for a busier server.  Porter I got to play with you and enjoy what a good leader you are in the game, excellent I must say.  I only wish you were able to not only control the aroma here at CSR but find a way to make it a more accepting, friendly server.  I have found it cliky and annoying and not open.  Good luck I hope you guys are able to get a server that has had problems in the past before some how get threw this slow time.  to thimk we here at Bs shared our server for the tourney and to be constantly attacked about grammer!?  My life is too good to be around people like that.  Killer as far as I am concerned our server should be removed from CSR, we can offer it later to another server.  To think of the time I have spent here and told people about and pushed to CSR, amzing...

how you want me to respect someone who's been temp banned twice now for disrespecting new admins is beyond me. not to mention this whole thing started with a rather sly attack at an admin for something he didnt do.

i show respect to people who have deserved it. im almost positive thats the view of other admins here too.

its also really easy to just come out from no where and complain how the server is going to hell. the only people in my opinion who can complain about the server being empty is SG and most of BS.. at least they showed the effort to constantly be in the server for the past months.
