Does anyone still play anything?

Remember when the people here used to actually play video games of some sort? Yeah...I barely remember too. Is there anyone that checks this stuff at all and do you still play video games of any sort? I fire up CS on occasion...I'm horrid from hardly playing but it's still fun. The starcraft 2 videos got me playing brood war a few times.

Hello out there?

I"m still alive and playing games too, though as Porter mentioned, the time is fastly slipping into an hour here or there to get one in. I miss when my life wasn't revolving around being an "adult".

The Starcraft 2 announcement has me pumped. Even though I was never that good at RTSes and swore off of them after Warcraft 3, I have to admit that Starcraft ate a large portion of my youth.

In general I have been in a gaming rut too and haven't played hardly anything recently. I have a backlog of DS and Wii games that I bought and haven't given a fair shake (Zelda, Trauma Center, New Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy 3, and Yoshi's Island DS) . I just got busy with some other thinks the last six months and they kind of started piling up. I find myself procrastinating from playing video games since it seems like a daunting task to break them all out.

There are a bunch of Xbox 360 games that I am highly anticipating. GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Fallout 3 (drool) and Fable 2. I will have to pick up a system when they come out with a version that doesn't sound like a jet engine.

I've been playing Scarface on the wii recently. I can't imagine playing a GTA styled game with anything but the wii remote or a mouse. The game is just so much more intuitive and engaging. Firing weapons and actually being able to aim is incredible, there is a much greater sense of control. Whether feeling more in touch with your inner Tony Montana is a good thing is questionable, but it sure is fun. The graphics are some of the best so far on the wii, surpassing the original xbox. It's essentially a more fun version of Vice City.

I'm really looking forward to the new Metroid and Madden 08. Both look fantastic and should have outstanding controls.

Im on my second run through Zelda: Twilight Princess, and have been playing a little Final Fantasy 7 here and there with my PSP when I get the chance. But other than that, not much. I want to get back into Guild Wars or HL2 so I can at least blow the dust of the pc.

When I find myself in front of my desktop, it is usually to play CS Source. I'll admit that the less than awesome hit boxes used to bother me, but I for some reason I enjoy it now.

I am about halfway through Resident Evil for the Wii. It is seriously rad. The controls are awesome with the Wii-mote. They put a lot of effort into re-tooling it, and it comes off flawlessly. I haven't had this much fun playing a shooter since Max Payne. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it on the GC.

Spot on. I'm enjoying the hell out of RE4. I played the REmake, but I never got into it whether because of the goofy controls or because I was never really sure where to go in that stupid mansion. This one is definitely more linear but still retains enough puzzle elements to keep me happy.

The Wii controls take an hour or two to get used to, but they are absolutely perfect once you get the hang of it. The extra precision makes capping zombies in the head so much more satisfying and the use of the motion sensors for reloading (shake the wii-mote) and the knife (waving the wii-mote) makes for some awesome moments. If anyone is not already convinced, the game is listed for only $30 at ebgames.

I haven't been playing much of anything online lately, I have gotten back into playing Dungeons & Dragons twice a month (with the books and dice!) with a group of guys I used to play with. I did play a little guitar hero on a playstation and I've got a friend with a Wii that i can't wait to try out.
  • I hear ya with the D&D tabletop, Skip! Two of my roommates in Chicago run tabletop systems so now we've got three different systems going at once (Exalted, GURPS, and D&D). It's nice to be back into the gaming swing of things (tabletop -wise)!

As for things I've been playing: primarily my DS since I've been doing a lot of commuting back-and-forth between the burbs and the city. I've also been playing D&D Minis and my Wii (almost done with Twilight Princess--for the 2nd time). I'm looking forward to expanding my Wii collection of games once my b-day swings around in a month or so (partially so I can actually buy games again). The reason I haven't been playing my PC is because whenever I'm in the burbs (which is where my PC is) I'm at work.
