Just played it and WOW. BEST GAME EVER. My hair was on end, it felt like a dream. I just met up with Barney. This is going to be the longest day of school ever.

If it's that good I might actually complete this one instead of just getting stuck at the Blast Pit like I did in HL. I doubt it will run on my comp though. I'll have to purloin my brother's one over Xmas and play it then.

HL2 = beaten... and i was VERY dissapointed with the ending, and get ready for a HL3.. which is SUPPOSED to come out in 2010.. "supposed" being the key word

I'm playing the game on the "easy" difficulty. Because i don't like challenges, and i just want to have fun and see everything, i get frustrated easily. When i replay it i'll probably try a harder difficulty though.

Scarr what difficulty did you play it on?
Hard is pretty frustrating but I hate playing on anything easier and completing it really easily and then being like that was too easy I should have played on Hard........because I can never be bothered to go back and play it all the way through on a harder setting.
But yeah Hard is pretty frustrating - those bloody flying razor things in the tunnels piss me off - its very satisfying when they feel the wrath of a crowbar though

I am so sad i cradhed my lap top 5 times last night and only got short brief looks at the game! My video card a Navida Go For6e 4600 and only 2r6 ram cant cut it! Have gone to dell Forums and found a fix by using other drivers! We will see if it's true, order ram today and possibly a 9800 pro but I hear that makes already hot lap top even hotter! NEED TO PLAY!!!!

Hello everyone,
The GeForce4 4200 Go in the Inspiron 8500 is based on the Geforce4 4200 Ti. On a whim, I forced WinXP to use the newest driver from Nvidia for that particular application. This works fine and Half Life 2 runs quite well.
Here is what to do:
1. Go to Nividia and download the newest driver executable.
2. Run this program and go through the motions of installing the drivers. You probably don't actually need to restart at this point since no new driver is actually installed.
3. Right click on desktop, select properties, Settings tab, Advanced, Adapter, Properties, Update Driver
4. When the wizard asks, tell it that you'd like to manually select a driver.
5. Click on the Have Disk button...
6. Browse to the .inf file in the Nvidia directory of your system drive (this was created when you "installed" the drivers above).
7. Select this inf.
8. Then scroll down and select the driver for GeForce4 4200 Ti. (NOT the 8X AGP however since the 4200 Go is 4X only...)
9. WinXP will warn you that this driver might not work with your hardware. Click to ignore the problem and install the driver anyway.
10. Reboot.
11. Run Half Life 2 as normal.
Before doing this, both Half Life 2 and CSS would crash after a short time requiring a reboot. Now both work fine and I am playing with no problems.
