After the success of CSR Fantasy Football (where Kaoz's NINJAVANISH! defeated Grounded's Concrete Blimps for the championship), CSR Fantasy Baseball sounds like a solid idea.

The same procedure applies for this league. With a yahoo account handy, go to:

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/register/joinprivateleague

ID:  138431
PW: phoenix

The league is once again available for 20 people, and with the start of the baseball season a month away, there should be no problem filling in the spots. First comes first serves.

Draft is set on auto draft like the football league, and will be started a few days after the league is full.

Teams Registered:

Rabid Pandas
  -Deuce
T-REX
  -Terraji
Legend of G
  -Grounded
Cavaliers
  -Skip
Pepsi Presents SJP
  -Surgeon General

I didn't fail entirely.  I was adhering to a separate goal system and progression framework in which I excelled and defeated all.

Quote:
In a league using Rotisserie scoring, fantasy teams are ranked from first to last in each of several statistical categories. Each fantasy team receives points in each category based on how they rank in the league. Each team's category points are totaled to determined their overall rotisserie score.

The maximum number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories within a league multiplied by the number of teams in the league. Similarly, the lowest number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories multiplied by one, which is the lowest score that can be achieved in any category.

If you are in a 12-team league, the team with the most home runs will receive 12 points, the team with the second most will receive 11 points, etc. In the case of a tie, each team involved receives an average of the total points due -- i.e., in the above example, if two teams were tied for first in homers, each would receive 11.5 points [(12 + 11) / 2 = 11.5].

So, if you were playing in a league with 12 teams and 12 scoring categories, the lowest point total possible is 12 [12 * 1 = 12] and the highest is 144 [12 * 12 = 144].

Rotisserie standings reflect cumulative season stats and not any single-day accumulation of stats. Your rotisserie total may rise or fall from day-to-day depending on how your rank in each category was impacted by the addition of stats from the most recently completed day.

Works much better for baseball because of the 162 game season.

Edit :

/I know from experience

The autopick system looks at both a player's position and ranking before making a selection. The computer looks to see which starting positions you need to fill, then selects the highest-rated player based on either our default ranking or your pre-rankings to fill one of those positions.

It is wise for all managers to pre-rank players. To do this, just go to your team page and select Edit Pre-Rankings.

Ascending order? Isn't day > month?

Month the highest is 12, while the highest for a day is 31. I'll use infinity for year for argument's sake.

31/12/Infinity/ = Rest of the World

12/31/Infinity = US

Er no, ascending order means:

I know what ascending means, I just didn't realize how you were using it.

I was looking at it in strictly the numerical value, not thinking about the item itself.

The Japanese (for example) always become "increasingly more specific." That is, they always start with the most general measurement and go to the most specific.

year/month/day/hour/minute/second

Nothing makes more sense than that. All the dates on my computers are formatted that way because there's zero ambiguity:

2005.03.29  ..can't be interpreted as anything other than March 29, 2005, and the same goes for 2005.03.07 if you can manage to keep in mind the "general -> specific" rule.

In computer terms nothing makes more sense than that, but ascending makes more sense for people because a) we read left to right and b) we usually mentally snip off the year.

Edit: Apparently I don't know my left from my right

Griffey isn't allowed to play when it rains because they think his hamstrings will esplode. So I'm already in the market for another OF.

I see someone is trying to load up on the Cubs... Other than the fact they're your team, I wouldn't see why though....

Actually, I pre-drafted every Cub I could find. My original reason was that I know exactly jack about baseball, but I know about jack+1 about the Cubs, so I just grabbed as many as I could so I could watch players I was somewhat familiar with. It turned out to be pretty beneficial though, because Yuna is a true Cubs "fan," and actually wants most of them. So now I (apparently) have some bargaining power.

Quote:
n a Rotisserie League (all non head-to-head Public Leagues are rotisserie), your goal is to have your team perform best across a number of statistical categories. After each day's games, all teams are ranked from first to last in each category, and points are awarded according to the order of finish. These rankings are based on the total of all stats earned by all active players over the course of the season. They may change following each day's game. Each category's points are then totaled to determine an overall score and place. The team in each league that ends the season with the most points wins that league championship.

In a Fantasy Points League, the goal is to have your team earn more fantasy points than all of the other squads in the league. You set a lineup based on league requirements and aim to have your players collect more fantasy points than anyone else's. Your points are tallied throughout the season, and the team with the highest total at the end of the year wins the league championship.

From Yahoo's Rules Section.

It explains it pretty well, and if it doesn't, ask a question and I'll try to answer it.

Edit: Now with linking to full rules in case anyone else has questions on things such as "waviers" or the "tiebreak system".

Again from the Yahoo Rules Section.

Quote:
All players dropped from a team's roster are immediately placed on waivers. During this waiver period -- two days in Public Leagues and anywhere from zero to seven days in Custom Leagues -- anyone in the league can claim the player except for the manager who dropped the player.

Also, remember that waiver claims are processed according to the waiver claim priority list. Waiver claims are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

If more than one team claims the same player, the team that is highest on the Waiver Priority List is given the rights to the player. The priority list is initially set based on the reverse of the draft order. However, each time you add a waived player to your roster, you are pushed to the back of the list. This "rolling" list stays in effect for the entire season.

count me in, but it would nice if we had more than a couple of active players this time.

What would you guys think of finding a larger pool for everyone to join?

That's a good idea we probably all know a couple people outside of CSR that would be interested. If we can get 5 or 6 of them to join that might do the trick.
