This map just emptied the server, and a few new people joined back in, but 4 out of the 8 of us wanted to change.

I personally dont like the map, the textures are good, but the level design is all over the place, its really confusing, and there are far too many places to sit and camp needlessly in my opinion.

Can we have a vote on whether to scrap it, I am confident most people dont like it judging by the fact it emptied the server, and even 4 of the people who were left didnt want to play it...

Satire or not, that was just not necessary Kaoz. There is also a little thing called tact. I'm sorry you don't like the map Alk, (it's nowhere as cool as your accent ), but there are other maps that get the same reaction. We can't take them all out or we'll end up with the same rotation we had to begin with.

I guess we'll just have to deal with an empty server for 25 minutes.

i dont see logic to that tho....why dont we replace it with another custom map that will KEEP people in the server.  It doesnt make sence to LEAVE in maps that empty the server.  I agree with alk, havana is a pretty boring, bad, emptying map.  Nice tectures, but doesnt keep people in.  I think we should try to find another map that will please people and keep them in the server to replace it.  The whole new mapcycle every day i believe was an experiment, a new idea that could be changed....not something that is perfect.  I think that if something in there is causing KAOZ (hehe no punn intentended) or emptying the server, we should chnage it.

And dont be mad at kaoz, he is just bringing some satire and comedy to the overly dominant conformist and politically correct society that we live in today.

my 2 cents

I'm not mad at Kaoz. I'm just tired of everyone complaining. A lot of people worked hard to get things the way they are around here and no one ever says anything positive. It's just getting to me I guess.

Sorry, keep complaining, I'll crawl back in my hole...

I am frequently dismayed to see how little people pay attention sometimes. As I've said in earlier posts, every standard map is represented in the rotations somewhere.

Seeing as I tend to agree with you two, thankfully havana is only in one rotation once. Be thankful that out of all seven days of the week, you only have to worry about it one day, and on that day, only once out of every 11 maps.

Porter, before I continue let me just say that I really do like the rotation idea for maps. Pretty all the maps we have going here seem quite nice, and sometimes a refreshing change to dust/aztec/italy etc. So thats a good thing, and thankyou admins for your work sorting the maps out.

However, with all respect, why do you yourself say we 'have to put up with it' even if its only on one day's rotation... Is it not possible to see what people think about replacing another good map with that map? If its too difficult to do because it would involve posting another map up on the site or something, just say its too much work and thats fine, I would have no complaint.

ya thats what i was sayin...like i really enjoy the new map rotations that we have here...but i dont know why we have EVERY map that is automatically "regular" to be implemented in the rotations.  Cant we just replace those certain maps with more popular ones even if they are played frequently throughout the week?  Or would that be too hard to change teh rotation now??

Yeah, I was playing this map too.  Then I left because there are just too many places for people to camp.

Thanks! We appreciate the praise and support. The refreshing part gets me a lot. A map I haven't played in two years come up, and I think to myself, "aahhhh, it's not aztec."

I feel like you guys are missing my point. What I am trying to convey is two-fold: First, that it's damn near impossible to figure out which maps are "popular"and which maps should get cut. And second, why does CSR need to be popular-only anyway?

Every map was included once because although there will certainly be maps people don't like, it guarantees that the map you like the most will get played at least a little. While you may be "putting up with it," somebody else is having more fun than you could image because they're playing their favorite map. We can take out some maps-- that's fine with me, but I can't guarantee that we won't take out your favorite map, and I'd be really upset if you all wanted to take out my favorite map. Wouldn't you? 25 minutes out of 4.5 hours doesn't sound like much to ask for to me.

I have one last thing to say about that maps: A lot of people don't like maps because they haven't learned them yet. I would hate to see people make ignorant decisions. It's just not fair to say a map sucks because you don't know of to "play" it right. piranesi is an example for me. I can't stand that map, but that's ONLY because I haven't figured out how to use the layout to my advantage yet. Let me ask you a question though: how am I going to learn how to play the map well when it's not in the rotation?

My second point is one that I have been thinking about for a while now. The last versions of CSR were run by people who were not necessarily trying to make a profit, but were desperate to at least break even. They didn't want to be paying for ALL of CSR out of they're own pocket. They tried to "grow" CSR as large as they could in order to get more donations and "subscriptions" to offset the cost of running the server. In fact, people could buy admin power! In other words-- their goal was to make CSR a place to earn them (some) money.

This CSR does not have that kind of restriction, and yet everybody still has the mentality of, "do things that will get more people to come to CSR!" Why? We don't have the same need for a larger user base as we used to. The server stays pretty full now with just the people who know and love CSR, and isn't that good enough? Especially when not a single one of us (myself included) has to pay for it?? I personally don't want to sacrifice any quality for quantity, but that's just my take on it.

And sorry for the long post-- it's a bad habit of mine. If you're reading this right now, thanks for taking the time to listen.
