I just thought some of you may find this interesting after our discussion about how popular a new version of CS would be.

This is the player-minutes of the top 4 games people who use xfire play.

1. 2080295 Counter-Strike Source
2. 1314908 World of Warcraft
3. 1234844 Call of Duty Multiplayer

More people play 1.6.Whether they do so because their computer cannot handle it, or, they like me, think the gameplay is horrible.

After using xfire for a week, I have found it is woefully inadequate for CS and CSS. If I can't see what server my friends are in while in a game myself, then it is of no use to me. To it's credit, it actually works 99% of the time.

i like cs 1.6 alot better. my computer can run cs : s pretty well. Just feels lie soomethings missing...

Thats fair enough

Maybe more people who have HL2 etc have Xfire than those who still use HL1???

That's what your numbers compared against the steam numbers would suggest. Though either way your still playing through Steam and it tracks it.

PS. I'm kinda unsure what your question/statement to be proved but I gave it a shot.

I think that xfire is great for games other than Steam based ones or any that have their own built in chat client. Xfire just doesn't have all the functionality of the ones built specifically for certain games though you can always sign in.

You got to be crazy to say CS is way better than CS:S or just frustrated that your PC is a piece of junk and cannot run todays game.

WoW has such an indepth chat/friend client in the game already, that xfire is pointless.. something tells me that the majority of the WoW players who would have xfire already had it from a different game.

i still like 1.6 over source GAMEPLAY wise.. source still doesnt feel right to me. and yes, i have a computer more then capable of running it.

and while we are on the subject of new games, where are all those doom 3 supporters who thought the game was a gift from god? you guys seemed to have dropped from that game quicker then you could even praise the almightlyness of it (making up words totally reeks of awesomeness)
