Hey slight...I got a new desktop, and since porter got the BSD on the laptop, I was hoping we could try slackware on this. I'm hoping the experience I got with porter should help, but I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Slackware should install like a breeze on any new machines out there. I'd be happy to walk you through the whole install process, but it shuld be very straight forward. Full install on a reasonably fast machine should take about 25 min, and will take up about 2 gig of space (80% of which is programs and system libraries). Slackware does a very good job of having just about ever dependency you can think of included with the install. I can only think of 2 times where I needed something not included on the install CD.
