Server Trouble

Why is it that for some reason when ive been trying too connect too the server it keeps retrying itself and doesn't connect weird thing is server is up and my connection is working arggg first lag now this what more can go wrong  ....

No not yet its too late anyway i dont feel like dealing with this right now i did check on a few other things however like my cl_timeout which read "305" so thats not the problem its somthing else just dont know what it is yet

I have no idea what i can do too fix this besides possible reinstalling it but i dont want too go that far cause ive already reinstalled this game 3 times dont really fell like going threw that again why im hoping there might be a easier way too fix this so im open for any suggestions (besides deuce ) too try and help me get this fixed

I only have one guess at what it might be. Check your woncomm.lst file (halflife/valve) and see if it looks like below. If it does not, then back up your old one (woncomm.old) and C&P this information into the new one. See if this helps.

Personally, I still think the biggest problem on your computer is the fact that you have both cs-retail, and half-life mod installed on the same machine, and no one really knows which one you're working off of. I recommend the half-life mod, but that's merely because I think it's more commonly used. At any rate, good luck with the reformatting thing, and if you tell you roomies to stop DL-ing all that porn that you KNOW your roomies do, that might help also.
