CS now refuses to let me change my resolution. The resolution box in the Video options is empty and there are no drop-down options. I don't particularly want to play in 640x480... Any suggestions?

the CS options now seem to be seperate from Steam Options, i know it sounds weird, but try opening any options for STEAM prior to launching CStrike.  Also, make sure you've updated your graphics card drivers as much as possible, since I know you've had Computer problems lately (some drivers are just picky).
