Wumpa clan server?
I'd like to add this
http://www.csreloaded.com/yabbse/index.php?board=25;acti on=display;threadid=1122
This is pretty old, but it touches on a bit of what csr stands for. I also think a big part of it is the rules. As in the level of morals it makes players commit too.
I put in wumpa clan server because that is what I feel it has turned into. Maybe the Deuce and Wumpa clan server. CSR doesn't stand for custom maps and I don't think being different was ever a goal of csr. It isn't about being a bunch of non conformists, but about the community having THE SAY.
Not having an awp isn't what csr is about and it doesn't define csr. Majority of people not wanting to play with it and then the administration listening is what defines csr. Which, I think, was greatly lost in the implementation of custom maps. You can say most people wanted custom maps like most people like to eat. However, just because people agree the want to eat doesn't mean after that point they want no control over what they eat, when they eat, and how much they eat.
I've been playing on csr for four years, maybe 2004 will be the year I don't get banned. I never did anything to deserve a ban, but I've been banned for things like not giving up a friend's wonid, being in a clan, hacking, and asking why my friends were banned. If that isn't a problem, IDK what is.
CSR is the only server that I play on regularly and is the only "gaming" forum I participate in. For all its faults it outshines all the other servers i've come across. I usually won't play unless it is in csr. I think it shows that the most important part of csr is the community and I know I'm finally part of it. People won't let this community die because against most everything you could throw at it, it continues to thrive. As long as csr doesn't stray from what has always made the regulars want to play here, then I think it will remain strong. If csr doesn't listen to the community, then that will be the moment it dies.

I hope everyone realizes that I appreciate and respect all that the administrators and bill payers do to keep this server running. I <3 csr don't make a mistake about it.

I believe: CSR != Custom maps CSR = Community
That's why i play.
Hence: go somewhere else, you != CSR.
|
|
Porter obviously thinks csr=custom maps though. Isn't wanting me to go somewhere else a tad extreme?

The addition of custom maps was originally put to a vote as I remember it. Most people (who voted or commented) wanted to try them out. Didn't do much for server traffic but at least we tried it.

I'm starting to think that custom maps will only (in the near future) be succesful here if we have an organised night where everyone agrees to a certain time etc.
To be honest I've not played a lot in the last few months so I don't know what changes have been made.
Is there a vote ever to change maps? is it initiated by an admin only or by default? or is there only a cycle?
I'm sure this has been discussed many times and I apologise for being so dumb and forgetful.
BTW I'm not pushing for any changes to be made cos I'm happy as things are - its great when i get the chance to join in and to have a bit of a laugh.

CSR != Custom maps CSR = Community
|
| CSR = Community, should be CSR == Community, if you were to use one = that would mean CSR becomes Community.
