What's really disturbing is that it happened in Ohio of all places! You know the world is really going downhill when quintuple-homicides happen in a night club in Ohio.

It sums up our pitiful human race! The same reason one person excels in sports, another music or math we all come out different. Some unfortunately come out retarded, handicapped, near sighted, left handed vs. right handed. Some of us come out with nasty tempers, some even killers. Then you throw in the mix of how somebody is brought up or all the predjudices we have for all kinds of different people due to race, religion, how thet look. This guy was a freak by many people standard, 6'3" 250 LBS. bald head tatoos. The guy had probablvery few friends, felt like a freak in our society and had no real love or companions in his life that were of good quality. To kill somebody because they broke up a band or maybe a previous fight it our lives guys, INSANITY! There are forms of insanity in people around you right now, work at school, church, everywhere! I trully believe if we had a major Nucleur war where only 10% of the population survived we would change we would learn from it for a time being. As soon aswe started to recover and a particular group or person started attaining more wealth, property or good the same jealousy the same crap would start all over again. Another wack job would be born, more freaks from fall out and killing and murdering and stealing and prejudices would all come back. Lets face it we SUK! It is never gonna change it is the reality of our beings, we are unpredictable and easily affected by numerous things around us. If this planet had just plants and animals this planet would be far better off. Paradise would be a planet like earth with no humans!

Culturally speaking, I agree.
It is never gonna change it is the reality of our beings, we are unpredictable and easily affected by numerous things around us. |
|
The same can be said about lots of creatures on this planet though; that's not a specifically human attribute. Heck-- even the planet itself is frequently unpredictable and easily affected by things around [and on] it! I still maintain that passing it off as human nature is simply an excuse to pacify people and keep them from attempting to fix things that I believe ARE entirely fixable.
As long as people keep saying, "eh, that's just the way we are, so why try to change it?" there will never be any progress. But as soon as we own up to the fact that not ALL humans behave in greedy, mean and angry ways, we'll be able to start finding ways to remove those things from our own lives. Until then, guys are gonna keep jumping on stages and opening fire, and kids are gonna keep walking into schools with shotguns and taking out classmates. It's simply not gonna change until we realize it can change.
If this planet had just plants and animals this planet would be far better off. Paradise would be a planet like earth with no humans! |

Aren't humans classified as animals?

Porte I know you want to be positive and love you for it but words have no real meat behind them actions do. I want you to stop the cigarete empire, when you achomplish that get back with me. I will help you with every thing else after that. If you can prove me wrong stop one thing and tell me after with lifef this short if it was all worth it and we will get to the other MILLION things we as a human race do wrong. I want to stop Porter I trully do I just don't believe there are enough special, differnt, caring, intelligent people out there to help. Man look at how Skip play this game along with Nicky they like to camp hide not run out front and confront all the killers here. Better cahnce of survival, the game proves human nature, survival. Eventually the numbers of poor will way out way the goverment controling it, taxing it , poorly running it and they will buck back. All great Nations have and the same mistakes will begin again and the same problems will come back. I'm here to survive and last as long as I can and enjoy it as best I can. I do not shield ignore or look awaay at what is going on I just accept the reality of it as sad as it may be. Eni

I would say more than half of the problem is our media........we take death for granted anymore........our wars are televised.......90% of the movies and games we watch and play are people (including kids) killing each other.....but yes I feel the very nature of beings on this planet (animals included) are of a violent nature....put two baby's in a room together alone and leave one toy...they will bop each other in the head for possesion of it..........we are truley ANIMALS.......we will eat each other for survival given enugh time without food............and we all want to be famous...this killing was done on the aniversery of John Lenon's death
we can all try to be better but its a fine line that seperates us from animal instinct

You'd think a guy with a name like "Dimebag" would have gone out a different way....
But in all seriousness, it's an extremely tragic loss for music in general. He was an extremly talented musician and adminsitered some bad ass riffs. It's sad to see that someone would want to take his life. RIP

You only mistake is continuing to believe that ALL humans do this. For the sake of argument, follow me here for a second:
If there are humans that DON'T live the way we do-- that is to say, that they don't kill each other and the very planet we need to survive (and there most certainly ARE these kinds of people), then it simply couldn't be "human nature" to kill each other, could it? ALL humans would have to do that for it to be human nature, and there are still humans left (not many, but they are there) that don't do it; therefore, it's NOT human nature, it's just our culture, and a culture is a hell of a lot easier to change than genes.
And as long as you aren't willing to start changing, why should anybody else be? THAT is the only reason why things have only gotten worse. When people have no other choice, they will always start cooperating to survive, but as long as there is a system that encourages people to act selfishly and allows them to get away with being greedy, mean and hateful, people will continue to be all of those things.
I would say more than half of the problem is our media........we take death for granted anymore........our wars are televised.......90% of the movies and games we watch and play are people (including kids) killing each other..... |

Does life imitate art, or does art imitate life? The extremely logical answer is that art imitates life. Life came first, which means that the very first piece of art was inspired by life. That's not to say that that art didn't go on to influence peoples' lives later, but the creative force that pulled that first piece of art into being was someone's life, first and foremost. What I'm saying is the media is more a reflection of our culture, and less a driving force behind it. The focus shouldn't be on the looking glass-- it should be on the 'person' staring into it.
but yes I feel the very nature of beings on this planet (animals included) are of a violent nature....put two baby's in a room together alone and leave one toy...they will bop each other in the head for possesion of it..........we are truley ANIMALS.......we will eat each other for survival given enugh time without food..... |
|
Put two babies in a room with one toy, and naturally they will fight for it-- the drive for self-preservation (and by extension: happiness) is one of the strongest there is in every living thing, and is not at all uniquely human. But if you put two adults in a room with a toy, chances are they can figure out a way to share it. What's the difference between the babies and the adults then? Teaching. The way they were raised. In other words: their culture. Culture is what allows humans to live in groups instead of by themselves. We'd never survive in big groups if we didn't have some kind of conditioning that compelled us to "play fair" on some level or another. My point in all of this is that if all it takes is teaching the next generation to "play" in a different way, that would be a hell of a lot easier to enact that changing our "human nature," wouldn't it?

Porter very well said and I agre with you on a lot of it in therory. I myself am always teaching and expressing the wrongs and trying to change the way people think or their actions. I just do not think their are enough intelligent people out ther like yourself. Life is so short and this is something that needs to be carried on for many generation for a real change to occur. With all the different cultures and seperation of cultures it is a daunting thing to imagine let alone try and take on. It's the same reason many bullies go un touched for weeks even years because of fear or laziness or the danger involved in adressing it. I feel the same way you do Porter and wish I had the time and energy to make a global impact! But when my politicians fell it is more important to spend Billions in space a year and go to Iraq and fight a war instead of using those men, those resources tro save a culture like Africa who die at 2,000 peopl a day and have 3 million orphaned childreen, man I could go insane. Everyone who voted for Bush has blood on thier hands, you are responsible for our people dying over in Iraq! It's not that i do not believe in voting or many of the things you said, it's just the chaos and the way things work now that I fell is a waste of MY time and life is so dam short! I hope the friggers figure out every state should be recycling before my life time ends!
