DVD ripping?

Hello guys,
I need some help. I want to rip and edit my wedding DVD (because there is lots of waste of time on it). How should I do that. I downloaded a apps called #1 DVD Ripper.
Anyone got any pointers to help me out. If the DVD is 3 gig how big will be the rip file? HELP IM LOST!!!!!!!!!

well you can buy premier for 700 bucks or use "DVD Shrink 3.2" for free

The title of the thread is "DVD Ripping", so that program would be useful for that part.
I've edited .avi files in Windows MovieMaker. It's free and it got the job done.

Do a search over at www.freshmeat.net or www.sourceforge.com for 'DVD rippers' - see what comes up. probably 70% of them will be Linux only, but you might hit the jackpot on something that will run on Winblows.

I will try.. I have DVD encore but I dont know how to rip from DVD..

no "I want to rip and edit my wedding DVD" to do that he has to make it a avi not make it a 4.7gb dvd b/c he cant edit that .... hold on i know what you want ill find one for you and tell you how to use it just not today dont have time..
but dvdshrink is what i use to "back up" dvd's .. hey nick i have 3.1 is there a new update yet?
