Old Games

Recently, I decided I wanted to play my favorite computer game of all time again, Quest For Glory 2: Trial By Fire again. I couldn't find my Anthology disc, so I figured I'd search the internet for it. I found it and a whole slew of other old games, and thanks to DOSBox I can play them.
It's fun revisiting the games I played when I was six or so (Sierra games), but I'd like to try something different. Basically, I'm looking for you older types to shoot me some recommendations.

Any of the Space Quest games == golden if you are looking for that kind of game.
My all-time favorite game that I spend hundreds of hours with on the old 386 was Darklands. It was an amazing RPG with the same combat system as Baulder's Gate (that game completely ripped it off years later and won all the credit). Engrossing stuff if you don't mind the VGA graphics.

| They were bitchin', except for that stupid chicken game in SQ3 (might have been two) that gave you the decoder ring. That pissed me off.

I'm going to give it a shot. VGA graphics are fun.

I'm surprised how well dosbox runs. SQ4 worked first time in linux sound and all with no extra setup. I remember tinkering with freedos awhile ago with limited results. Once I get a little more time on my hands, I will have to do the whole nostalgic gaming thing.

I had a good time playing the original Police Quest. Don't forget to check your squad car before driving!
X-COM is another great DOS game, though if you can find the PlayStation version you'd be much happier with the visual and performance. The DOS version runs at 320x240, which is painful to look at.
