I think de_karachi01 should be replaced with scoutzknivez in the rotation. Like Kitty said in another thread, it always is great for server traffic....that and its a map im good at I'd even say put it in the everyday rotation! Also up it's limit from 10 mins!!
Karachi is not a bad map, ive just never had a chance to play it for real since it ALWAYS empties the server. Is there a way to re-enable auto download and just have it re-direct to a different spot so its doesnt kill the server?
I also want to reccomend cs_speedball. Its setup like an indoor paintball arena with wood barriers, windows and stuff and is plenty of fun. Maybe a few admins can play test it and give some input. Very basic map, fast matches and lots of trying to sneek around, but small enough where your not waiting for 2 knuckleheads to find each other.

Hate to break it to you, but scoutzknivez will never be in a rotation on CSR (not as long as Porter has anything to say about it ). And I don't think it belongs in this server anyway, but that's just my two cents.....

Yuna is exactly right. It's not what CSR is about. That's also why the timelimit for it will stay at 10. You should be lucky I even allowed that rubbish on the server to begin with. I've had many occasions where I was very close to deleting it.
As for speedball, one of the best non-objectives based maps out there in my opinion (other than joust that is). I'll see if I can't remember to get it uploaded and votable for ya.

i'm gonna have to agree with narf on only 1 point..raise the time limit back up to normal for scoutzknivez.
i know if i want to play that map, i wanna play it for more then 10 minutes.

and i mean really.. if you want the honest truth..if the time is set to 10 minutes, i'm even more likely to change the time myself to 25 in game. waste of precious admin typing if you ask me

I personally don't mind karachi it's a very intresting map wiht a lot of different spots to be at. It does induce camping to the highest degree, and people don't like to take time to learn maps. Although it didn't change much from karachi. If people can't dl off server then they aren't gona download it unless they want to play it. Do with it as you wish with the map, but every time it's been on it's been empty.
As for scoutzknives it's a fun map, i like to play it at times, if it was in the rotation 1 or 2 days a week that seems reasonable, maby replace office or dust once, As for the time, regular map time should be applied

Only problem with karachi is not enough people have it and auto download is disabled. There were about 12 people on the server earlier(enjoying scoutzknivez ) and that went to 1 when it karachi came on. Not a bad map, just unpopular
Im happy to hear you to think speedball is a good map...I love it Hopefully it will make it onto the server

Honestly, people who are too lazy to come to the URL that's advertised in the server every five minutes and download a map are not people I care about not playing on CSR. Auto-download is off because it seems to have a positive effect on the stability of the server. While I wish we could have it both ways, I don't mind losing players that only want to play dust followed by aztec followed by dust2 followed by dust.

how about everyday be custom map day! ok, custom maps all the time, np, porter has more then enough maps to do that too, believe me. Ok, good. I'll keep map changing to fun maps like mice, greenhouse, etc.

lets face it... some maps are just not popular... since to my knowledge CSR is the only server that runs counter-strike (correct me if I am wrong) I don't play CS unless its in CSR
it stinks like narf poop to no end when we have a good 10-12+ player game going and then map change to cs_747 and you watch the player list drop like flies. Until its 2 on 2 maybe less... and we run around and knife for 5 minutes until that gets old and then the server is now empty... there are certain maps that it happens on everytime they are played.
I tell this to people all the time.. i personally like any map... i have my favorites but ill play anything just as long as there are people playing... I personally agree with porter that I like real CS maps better than the oddball ones.. but for some reason mice seems to get a lot of play time.. now there is a horrible map.. it should be called cs_ifyoudonthaveanautosniperdontbotherplaying.bsp
but hey thats just my 2 pesos

I was thinking that, after cs_reloaded is done, I could have a go at making another map that is much smaller both in terms of game space and file size that could be a little different. I've seen plenty of people starting to dl maps and then give up because the files are too big.

I don't mind playing custom maps. As long as they are good custom maps, most custom maps are stupid, they were poorly planned out, to small, to big. Unless it's a map like awp_rooftops or scoutzknivez where the point is for it to be a small easily planned out map. But if you take a map like cs_mice_final, which i kinda like, but i have never seen the hostages rescued one time while playing that map, it shoudl be de_ or just mice_final. Good objective maps are hard to make because you want to make it even for both sides to the team with better teamwork prevails, ie de_nuke or de_inferno, not de_dust which is completly ct sided. The point i am trying to make is that a good objective custom map is very hard to find, and i don't think that you will find many of them.
Fotty sometime i'll show you some tricks on mice_final that will allow you to destroy either team with a rifle or pistol. You just gota know the tricks, although i agree it is a very unbalanced map because there is an objective.
If you make csr completly custom maps (which i don't think you are) i have a feeling that you will lose most regualrs who do enjoy the orignal maps.
Porter i agree with you 100%. I don't want to play with kids who just wana play dust2/aztec/dust and then dust2 again. Although i do enjoy d2 very much it does get old after a while. But i think the play time that Dust2/aztec/dust recieve is lower than the ammount that office is played it's self.
I know i've seen de_clan1_mill(they renamed the map to de_cpl_mill) being played in csr which is great, but i haven't seen de_cpl_mill or de_comerade_3rdroute which even though they are CAL maps they are much fun in a pub and i think they would be great maps to replace the constant playing of office/dust2/dust/aztec.
And for cs_speedball it's a fun map, but lookinto it there are a lot of maps like speedball that are much better, when i rember the name of one i'll post a link for you all to try out.

Comrade_3rdroute must be a great pub map, never tried it outside of 5v5 format. I remember the first time I scrimmed that map was against sunman, some people here may know who that is
I'd like to see de_clan1_mill renamed de_cpl_mill as that is the new name format of cal maps, Comrade is not technically a CAL map, as it was being made by Narby just as his own map, but he took CALs input into how to make it better for competition

I was under the impression that cpl_mill and cpl_fire are not just renamed maps but actually tweaked versions of the clan_ maps.
