How long have you been playing?

One of the later betas. Dunno how long that is. I've actually been playing longer than JB but then he went hardcore for a year and overtook me

But lately I've hardly played at all
Used to watch JB and Grounded play back home but they used to laugh at me if I ever had a go  Even so I liked it enough that I wasn't put off and when I got broadband earlier this year it was the first thing I downloaded and installed!

started in grade 8 with thanks from grail and smokey. I played on eaglez nest. Then my dad un-installed it, he said i spent too much time on it... (cs was the only game i played). Then end of grade 9 id say i got back into it... So i dunno like maybe 3-4 years...

Who knows. I played back in the old SR days, but started with other servers. I'd have to guess I started playing in late '99 or early 2k.

Porter got me hooked in late 2000/ early 2001. I spent most of 01 playing every day non -stop. I didnt get my pc until after SR shutdown, but I did log a lot of frags over at Eaglez.

As soon as grounded started playing it - we used to talk turns and listen tyo justboy rip us for playing. But look at him now he plays load more than me!!!!!
That was quite a while ago when i was still at school!!!

I started playing after Grounded and joey showed me the ropes and brought me down into their geeky web of uncool. I thought using a mouse and keyboard to play looked both ridiculously hard and just plain ridiculous. I was a console gamer before that - any beat-em-ups or Final Fantasy and I was hooked.
The epidemic of CS has spread around our friends so that Pancho's bro has now bought himself a nifty comp and is setting up broadband to join the fray. Soon we will form an all-conquering, all-Scottish CS team the likes of which have never been seen. And we will call ourselves Tenacious D. That's right me and KG!!!!
Something went wrong there....
Anyways I started playing in the summer before I went to Uni so that's like 3 and a half years. I started off random CS on publics, then joined my first clan called AntiHD soon after. Started playing wars with them. Then they went inactive and I joined a team called KIDZ and also signed up on CSR. Played for KIDZ for a while and then after they disbanded settled into the UK CS 56k Community run through jolt.co.uk and played in numerous gathers, mixes and cups as well as 25 different clans which lasted about a week each. Then joined iK who progressed up ladders really quickly and at our best were placed 6th in the Premier Division of www.enemydown.co.uk. Now I play in #mono.uk who are an amalgamation of iK and another clan and we are building our way back up to the Premier of ED. I've been playing with the same UK players in iK/mono for almost 2 years now.
As far as leagues go I've played Clanbase, Jolt, ECSL, BWCSL and EnemyDown.
And that is my lame CS history which will pale in comparison to KaoZ and Zool's exploits but then I've never really lanned other than a few times in France.

Since .4.....hmmm.....when did .4 come out?
Scary thought... I'm 26 (almost 27), and I've been gaming since I was 6. 20 years of gaming.
Don't really play CS at all anymore though.... NWN, Enemy Territory, UT2K4, and Doom3 mostly, with some battle for wesnoth thrown in.....every now and then I fire up Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy, or System Shock 2 (I just can't stop playing it... I'm going to wear the CD out)... but between working full time, writing, teaching, and my daughter, I really don't have much time for gaming (or sleep, really).
I'm teaching my daughter well though.... :-)

I am 51 and started gaming when PONG wasa revolutionary concept.
As for CS I have been in about 3 months less than Koaz who has not resonded to thsi yet - so my addled brain can't do the math.
BUT at least a week or two or 100 or 200 or or or .....
Must grow out of this phase - but I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!

Just over 5 years...
Started out pubbing it up all the time and being a myg0t with aries.21 (some of you might remember) and played nonstop on pubs messing around and screwing with people. Then I found the Burlington Battle Lan community and started lanning pretty hardcore.
Then i was introduced to CS:Review (the first one when it started) as GotenJC. I was only like half the community participant I am now, but I was still here alot. I stagnated from this point until the time just prior to CS:Review's demise. I joined [SWoD] who taught me how to play with tactics, and really built me into the player I try to be now. I came back to CSR and had gone up in skill and ability hugely in only a weeks time, most of the server was convinced at one point or another that i ch33t3d. It only took like 8 months but everyone came around, i then hopped to csh > with a bunch of locals and CSR peeps and that whole thing was a fiasco, i think i'm one of the only 2 remaining unbanned members... out of like 8.
I then started playing "Professional" with some big name teams and spent time on this game like you all spend time on the job. Now i'm burned out somewhat and can't bring myself to play for more than 20 minutes at a time. oh well
WANNABOOZY?!??

Wow! Awesome callbacks to past glories!! GGz for Kaoz and joey.
So ASDR was Accidental Suicide Death Ratio, progressive punk-rawk screamo band turned CS clan. We had an amazing website and eventually roped in like 10 or so members all with back stories and a distinct lack of skill.
WANNABOOZY would be the term used for anyone whose alcohol consumption skills pale in comparison to those of joey. The man drinks like a fish and swims like a dog. I am a lightweight as I get drunk on a few pints. I aspire to the status of joey-like Boozehound but for the time-being I am a WANNABOOZY. I believe Kaoz here is also one of our elite. Deuce and Grounded however are amish and don't touch the liquor because it is the devil.
Shark - you sound a hell of a lot younger on the mic. My dad is ages with you and he plays. He doesn't use the mic though and he can't type fast enough to keep up so he rarely communicates on the server. You'll see him on as Papa Ibanez or Pedro - more likely as *DEAD*Papa Ibanez or *DEAD*Pedro though.
