bots?

i guess this question is for porter,are there bots that can be activated here to play against each other or if nobody is on someone could play against them,iv seen servers with 10 players which turned out to be bots so it was a good illusion that players were there,do you think that would bring people here thinking we had players on the server? just wanted to run that by ya or anyones thoughts,just trying to get people here in game.

We actually tried that last year if I recall. I think the problem was finding a bot package that didn't crash the server on a regular basis.
Actually, I just checked the server's configs, and we still have PodBot installed (but deactivated). I can turn it back on, but I highly doubt that it's going to be any more stable now than it was 10 months ago. I also doubt that anybody has done a lot of work to fix any of the bot packages available what with CS:S out now. In fact, I would say that the only real reliable way to get bots on CSR at this point would be to move to CS: Source.

the server i play 1.6 at with the bots eliminates bots after a certain amount of people join in which like i said brings the illusion people playing all the time,just thought it was not a bad idea since it was always empty and needed attention

Yeah, that's basically what we tried to do with it, Toby. It just didn't work that well.
BTW, you can identifiy which servers have bots and which don't through Steam's server browser window.

The main reason was that the SGBot was far better than SG and he threatened legal action.

If you still play on a 1.6 server that has stable bots, then there must still be a package we could use. I'm not against trying to get it working, but I'd need to know what bot package (and what version of it) that server of yours is using. Can you post an IP for it? Maybe I can get the information from the server's published cvars.

That's because he used actual hacks and mine are just the "OMG he hax" hacks.
