Smokey's Map Solution

Here's my solution with the map problem.
All original maps, we keep.
fy maps, we take them away and never bring them back forever, that means fy_iceworld, fy_iceworld2k, and fy_poolday.
we get ride of all the boring maps, that have a little happy lasting effect in my mind, such as cs_mice_final, cs_boxoffice, de_dust4ever, and de_dustbunnies.
We also can definitely get rid of scoutzknives and burn it in hell.
But we can keep those maps that are great, and you have to plant bombs, and go around it stragetically, something like the original basic maps can do. Maps that show that:
de_legato (definitally 100% awesome) cs_haste cs_robbery? dont really know, haven't played it, but from the words its suppose to be good.
My maps that I would say do the samething:
as_forest
cs_india cs_cairo cs_coalmine cs_iraq cs_thunder
de_clan1_mill de_india de_morningstar (checked out the map today... great!) de_rotterdam de_tpoint
helms_deep
So as you can see there are many other maps, that involve stragetic play like the basic maps, and well, its more fun, than those that you can have like 50 rounds and just have a scout and a knife, this isn't a custom map server, I understand that, and well aware of that, so those who really wish to go to a custom maps server go there, instead of here. But some custom maps don't hurt. The beta maps of MM, and Deuce, I have seen, and am impressed somewhat of how good of a job, especially Deuce (haven't seen MM map yet... sorry), in such little time!
So theres my map solution for CSR

Sounds like an absolutely awesome plan to me (though I wouldn't mind keeping cs_mice_final around for kicks once in a while). Smokey's plan has my full support (for whatever that's worth).

I agree too.... Although I think having any custom maps on a server is tough, simply because there is no way to guarantee that the populace has the map that is being played.

There's no way to guarantee it but there are plenty ways to advertise it.

i bet we could get a whole bunch of great maps like legato and haste..but if people are gonna play them..you need to put the entire map pack on the site for download

Personally, I think csreloaded should have a splash page that has 2 options, 1 directly to the DL page, and the other to the main site. That way, we can advertise on the server with a MOTD that says 'Maps can be Dl'ed frm www.csreview.com' and when people stick that in their browser the first page that they see leads them right to the map DL's.

i tend to like duece's and my plan better...but thats just b/c i co-made it! hehe I have typed this about 91794712934712390847189023471902347 timse so i am just copying it from another post. This is what I propose:
We make it so that the public can NOT nominate these custom maps and fy maps..only "normal" maps. Admins (and most likely minimum access admins) are the only ones that can put up a vote for it or change it to the map (well only an admin can CHANGE it directly to a map, but u get the idea). So if you want the map, ask an admin to put a vote for it. This way, it polls the whole server and if 50% or more want to go to that custom map or iceworld, then its a fair majority decision to go there. But if 50% or more in NOT obtained, then its not fair to go to that map. This has occured WAY TOO OFTEN b/c there are like 6 options to choose from at the end of the map so 2 or 3 votes for one map could win.
Thats why i also propose to LIMIT the nominations as well to 2-3 AND make it so that 50% or higher (personally i think it should be 45% or higher as a buffer zone, but that could just be me) must be obtained. Deja vu anyone?? hehe

We should really get everyones opinion on what maps we all want... and once we have a set idea of the custom maps that are appropriate for this server, we should create a CSR map pack... and that makes it easier for everyone... no worrying about where to find them
