Simple enough.. trying to get opinion on the league and how many would play for a winter league.

How can I get my karma into the double negatives like Deuce? 
If you do have a tourney, please make it either fully tested maps, or just fully custom maps that aren't final. Call it a "beta tourney"

I voted for the third option.
In retrospect, I think we should have played all standard maps. Those maps suck, but at least we know what we're getting into when you play a match on them. Though I think it would be cool if we did have another one during the winter to play all custom maps that nobody knows like the back of their hand. This way the best strategy would be stick together and hope for the best. Now that would be good CSR fun.
It would also be cool if we had HLTV working.

I think the tourney is very cool! I will be involved with all of them and have enjoyed the arse kickin we have been getting. I think one time around it should be depending on your status, level teams should be selected round robin wise. That way we wont have these un-balanced teams. I would also like it if we did not know which map it was going to be, to creat a more natural enviroment, no practice before a real battle. Let instincts a surprise be more about the game than these finatics who are all great on one team practicing on the map they know is comming. Just a thought...

I like the teams how they are. I purposely am only getting mostly the lower skilled people in my clan so we can practice them some. Its only for fun, so why not just get the people who would have the most fun into it. Random teams might be good, but I would much rather play on a team of people I know. Though I do know most of the peeps we played against so far. So overall, I'd prefer set teams, but I would probably play either way.

Yeah, now that I have played it, I don't care so much about the teams, but I do care more about the map selection. Most people that play here, including myself, aren't geared toward the competitive side of cs. They don't come in with any sort of plan for the map other than stick together and hope for the best. That is okay for playing as a T but trying to defend bombsites as CT it just doesn't work. People that are fairly proficent cs players end up looking silly. Which is why I still think we should play custom maps, that nobody has a proven strategy coming into the match. It would level out the playing field considerably and I think it would be much more fun. Then again nobody really cares what I think, so I don't think I'm going to make an appearence in the next league (assuming we have the same setup).

I think this would be wicked cool if we could pull it off. Instead of a tourney perhaps it would work better as an event like the admins vs regulars matches we've had. Or perhaps a hybrid of the two. Trying to draw blind teams and then schedule matches for 7 weeks could be a huge headache....
Maybe like a one day event similar to a golf tourney. Have 4 matches scheduled and everyone that is interested will need to commit to being available during a 4 hour period on a
specific day. A couple days before a "draw" is done and the players are given a "tee-time". within that 4 hour block. We could do one a month with a different simple map each month.
It could even be handicapped so that players were matched up against each other based on KPD ratio. I'm happy to spearhead this as long as I can get help from the computer savvy guys for the stuff I can't do.
I look forward to your opinions on this.

I like the of idea a blind map and random teams and like a golf match it would be all fun. No strats, just teamwork, skill and a bit of luck. Sounds a lot more enticing than playing the same old map against practicing teams.
During the winter its tough to square a block of time between work and school. Leaves only the weekend really.

I chose 1, i do like the idea of the league. but i think there could be a few better adjustments.
1. stick to de maps, cs maps are going to make it very unfair for the ct's.
2. More people on a team, preferably 5, but i think a minium 4. No offense but most people aren't good enough to be able to watch 2 or 3 way effectively, and with 3 people that is the case most of the time. With 4 people i think it would be easier.
3. I know it's not something that you control, but more teams would make it much better it think

Well if you have 3-4 tourneys a year, more teams are most likely going to join. Having 1 every year or two will not help that out much. Also restricting it to primarily "CSR regulars" hurts that. I am glad you did extend it to me though, even though I'm not a regular anymore. Perhaps you should extend this past just your group and invite another server or two to take place in it. I might be willing to pimp out the tourney to some of my regulars and maybe even double the participation. Up to you guys in the long run.

personally i think we should just go for a massive custom map day - the more UNconventional the map the better i think - my best times on CSR have been playing de_just and deuceball - becasue they are so different yet the gameplay is superb if everyone is just having a laugh - and not being really serious and strategic.
I was playing on another server the other day (don't hate me  ) and we were playing a map called "fun_allinone" - the concept was great in my opinion, but the final product was only good for a short while.
Basically the T's and CT's start in 2 glass rooms - but cant get to each other. One side (I cant remember which) has a dorr that will fit one person. He goes into the door/chamber and presses a button to let him out. Outside the glass room he can then chose 1 of 6 (or 8 ) doors by using a button next to it. He then goes thru the door and into a teleporter kind of thing.
Once he has made his choice the T's and CT's are all freed from their rooms - but still seperated from each other. The doors are all mirrored each side of the divide and so they all only have 1 dorr to go thru each.
If they are too slow to leave the room thru the teleporter then lightning strikes all thru the room and kills anyone left.
Once thru the teleporter they are all placed in a new level - sometimes only with knives and then with different weapons.
Basically it means you can have one map but by chosing a different door you get to play a different game.
I don't know what our mappers would feel like about creating this sort of thing - or what you guys think about playing it but I kinda liked the idea. And I thought it was perfectly suited to have a version of deuceball behind at least one of the doors!

yeah, i stopped caring about the league after a week went by and no one did any scheduled playoff games. no one else was going to try to make it work, so i stopped trying to make it work as well.
