I was wondering how long it would take before someone posted something in here.
My only advice is to check to see you have the latest driver for your video card.
Edit- And if you're averaging somewhere in the middle of that number constantly, I wouldn't be complaining

A lower resolution would probably help. Also check the Display Settings "Advanced" button for graphics card-specific settings. You usually can tune your Direct3D settings for Performance over quality.

IDK I'll have to check it out when I get home. The PC is about a 2yr old Gateway.

By the looks of it, its probably a GeForce4mx, or maybe even a GeForce3... In which case, the only real way to solve the problem is a better card. A good (DX8 compatible) AGP card can be bought for around $100 or less - or closer to high spec (and therefore DX9 compatible) maybe $200...

Its a Nvidia geforce2 and I figured the only solution would be to replace it. I'm gonna get a new pc probably in the spring so I'm not gonna bother with it then Thanks.

| I have a geforce 2 mx in this hunk, and it kicks out at 100fps. I had 60 constant until I upgraded my drivers and disabled vsync.

go to vid card setings go to preformance and quality setings in global driver go to vertical setings and change it from application-controlled to off

Thats the problem. On my XP3000+, CS:S gets average of like 40/50fps upwards with medium settings running on a 9800Pro.

Same. Though it is such a waste of valuable computing power.
[thread hijack begins] Source is terrible. The bullet recognition is AWFUL, it removes practically all the skill and turns in to a game of craps. It makes CSR look good in the bullet reg department. Secondly, the character models move like they are constipated and the gun models look comical, almost like toys.
The few things I did like were all cosmetic. How anyone can say the gameplay is better must really enjoy the physics (while cool, they were mostly distracting). [end thread jack and rant]

Yeah, you don't realize how good the players on CSR are until you go somewhere else and ABSOLUTELY OWN EVERYONE. That is what makes CSR so awesome.
