I think you will be fine. Source needs alot of processor for the physics, and a 3200 XP is more than enough. Do check your video chipset, because a lot is dependant on that.

I was able to play through HL2 on my parent's 3.2ghz P4 with 512 ram and 32mb Radeon 9100 integrated video. It was a little dissapointing with the video, but with the detail turned down it was still quite smooth and playable. CS:Source doesn't quite get a high enough frame rate for me to feel comfortable. For a twitchy multiplayer game, the better video capabilities are defenetly needed.

If anything is needed it, would probably be a video card. There is a demo that you can download for HL2. That will give you a pretty good indication of how it will run.

Some might say that 512 ram isn't enough, but I would say that it is fine for HL2 and the current bunch of games. If you wanted to have a decent gaming rig for awhile, an extra stick of RAM is the next thing after the video card. RAM prices are very low currently. I was able to get 512mb of PC3200 for $40 canadian two weeks ago. At christmas, the same stick was $90. If you have the money now, a RAM upgrade might be wise.

Looks like you are sitting pretty. The mx4000 is by no means a fast card, but it probably kicks the crap out of what I was running. Download the Half-life 2 demoand see how it goes. Make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers installed first.

Yeah, terraji pretty much has this one covered. Try the demo and see how it runs.

Edit: As far as drivers go, I rock the Omega Drivers for my ATI card. They run much better than the official drivers, and I'd imagine the drivers for the Nvidia cards do likewise.

I am a little skeptical about those. They are probably most useful for freaks who care about overclocking and spend their time obsessing over benchmarks. They probably work decenty, but there is going to be tradeoffs (stability, voiding your card's warranty, etc.)

No, a driver set is just software, software does not void a warranty, only hardware modifications or flashing the card•s bios may void the warranty.

I've had no problems stabilitywise and haven't done anything to them but install them. But hey whatever works.

I did some reading into it, and they are just tweaked versions of Nvidia and ATI's drivers, not complete replacements. The Nvidia and ATI provide that option so businesses that use their cards can tweak the settings for their exact purposes. This guy who does the omega drivers just tweaked to fit his preferences for games.

It's just a matter of preference, if you wish to tweak it for performance or quality. Personally, I find the built in settings a little more practical for doing the essentially same thing.
