hey. I just got part-time access to CS:S and was wondering if any of the old-timers....(or new-timers for that matter) played it. It'd be cool to play together.
Let me know =)

I have source and it runs well. Too bad the game is terrible, otherwise I might play it.
Fotty has a server and he posted a link to his website, but I think he got a new domain name for it since it no longer works.
Sorry, I'm not much help.

The biggest problem I have with it is the poor bullet recognition. Honestly, it feels like a console shooter where aiming doesn't matter. You can just hold down the trigger and a random bullet that's going 10 feet to the right and 15 feet above you will magically kill you. In my opinion, the game was designed for a broad audience, mostly people who have never played CS before and casual gamers. By doing that they alienated a lot of people and that can be seen in the fact that 1.6 is still more popular than Source after quite a bit of time. I really don't think its the system requirements that are holding back most of the people.

I think pretty graphics are great, but if it plays like garbage, I don't care how it looks. Your mileage may vary though, so give it a whirl and make up your own opinion. There are some people who swear by it.

hrm. That's a pity. I was surprised that more people play HL1 DM than CS:S.
strange!
I still don't have a copy of HL 1....I'll start scouring the bargain bins =)

You can get it through steam with CZ for $14.95.

You probably can get a CD key through ebay for next too nothing.

There are a couple of threads in this particular forum where people posted IPs for Source Servers. I know Alk, HH, and Fotty all posted ones, there may be others.
