Downsize the game server?

What with the descreased activity around here, it has been suggested that we downsize the server from a 20-man account to something less in order to save yu^rei some money. I'm interested to hear the opinions of the few people left who still check the boards every once in a while.
The suggested size right now is 14 people, which would decrease the cost per month from $69.95 to $34.95. Losing 6 spots for half the price seems the most reasonable compromise, and I encourage everyone to strongly favor this option when they're casting their votes.
Also keep in mind that the CS:S option will likely result in a total loss of funding from yu^rei, given that he has no desire at all to play CS:S, and I can't imagine him being willing to pay for a server running a game he doesn't even play. Regardless, I thought it would be good to gauge the interest in that option.

If you set up (and verify) a PayPal account, you can transfer money from a checking account, but that would probably be more effort than it's worth if you haven't already done all that. The instructions are pretty simple: just go to http://www.paypal.com, sign up for an account, and follow the instructions to link it to your bank account. The other option is a check and the good old postal service, if you're so inclined. It's definitely not a requirement to donate though, and nobody should feel obligated. Neither yu^rei nor myself want anybody to have to go through a lot of hassle-- we'd rather you kept your money than jump through a lot of hoops to give it away.

I talked to yu^rei and he's game for the 14 slots. I'll give the poll another day or two before we put the email in. That means you all have about 24 hours to post any more comments you have!
Although, RG says that the change would take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, so we'd have a couple weeks before it actually happened.

We'll tonight the server was as busy as it's been in a LONG while and I'm not sure if we had more than 14 or not. Either way 14 is plent.

I'd say more like December.
I could do my end of it in a weekend, but my weekends are all booked up with weddings and events and all sorts of junk from now thru Thanksgiving. I have a new release of HLmaps finished that will work with CSR finally too, but I haven't even had time to release that to beta testers yet (thanks to Tenshi for single-handedly helping squash a dozen bugs in one afternoon, by the way).
Anyway! Hopefully I'll get a free day or two after Thanksgiving where I can sit down and get *A* voting plugin working.

porter, how much actually needs to be done to current vote plugin? if i have a base of reference (e.g. the older one), i might be willing to at least take a stab at writing some code. All we are doing is taking out some stuff and altering how other stuff is happening right? Or am i over simplifying again?
