You know that pause at the beginning of each round when you can't move? That's the "freeze time."
I'm curious to know what you all think is the "perfect" amount of freeze time. Please choose the answer that's closest to what you would put it at if you were running your own server.
Also please take note that this doesn't mean we will definitely change CSR's setting to the most popular result (though we may if the response is strong enough). This poll is the result of Grounded bringing the subject up.

I see people are already voting for very low freeze times. Maybe I should lay out why I think these are too low.
1. If you don't have buy scripts then it's practically impossible to keep up with those who do. I know buy scripts are relatively easy to set up but since the server accommodates a wide range of skill levels it certainly shouldn't be assumed that everyone has them.
2. The freeze time might well be set at 3 seconds but it doesn't feel like that at all. 'Go go go' sounds almost immediately after spawning and I'd be very surprised if it was truly 3 seconds in real time.
3. For those of you who do you scripts, there is no real disadvantage to having a longer freeze time. Sure you might have to wait a couple of seconds but is that such a big deal? The issue here is really balancing. If you assume the better players have buy scripts then they are the ones who will get the headstart in the round and hence a further advantage over the lesser players. A couple of times I've been playing recently and a good team has rushed hard and completely overwhelmed the other team within seconds of the round start. One map in particular where this becomes a major factor is oilrig, seeing as the goal is just to kill one of the CT team.

6 seconds is a pretty good time I think. The buyscript advantage is huge when freezetime is low cos I use busyscripts and frequently do an instant purchase then leg it and catch CTs off guard. Usually Grounded for that matter.

i like the freeze time as it is..but the time on scoutzknivez needs to be at 0...help prevent spawn shooting

I think anybody that likes to play scoutzknivez should have to put up with spawn shooting. That map is poorly designed from the ground up-- do you really expect somebody that's building a map for that kind of gameplay style to care about spawn shooting? ...or any other design elements for that matter?
No, I don't feel much like trying to fix a problem with a map that the designer did not anticipate by modifying the server.

And, well this is just good situational comedy...I put down four seconds, because my ping can suck, I do NOT use buy scripts, and I can still be one of the first people out of the blocks, but some people with fast pings can still get a pretty good run on me. The extra second might not seem like much, but you'll see it more than you think, anyway, it's a compromise again, but I think it is worth it.

There are times when I rush on maps like d2 up short A as T and I can hear CTs still buying. I voted for four seconds.

We should do this like the Conservative Party over here in the UK elects leaders.
From that vote the two options, with the two highest number of votes, would then be put to a final vote... therefore 0 seconds and 3 seconds up for the final vote...
I think its a good system.

i think the first poll should be started over again with new options..because there are too many to pick from to get a majority.
the poll should have been

and from there you go into the details.
because despite the fact that 3 seconds and 0 seconds are the leading picks, the category "more time" is tied with "same time" and "less time" combined (more time-11, same time-5, less time-6)
see? the votes can be misleading.

thats statistics for ya. u can mold stats to say ANYTHING u want. What duece is stating is sort of like Simspon's Paradox. When combined, the data says one thing but when separated, the data can say the total opposite. For example, lets say there is a 60% acceptance rate for men and 40% acceptance rate for women in a Business and Law College. However, whent he data is separated into Business College and Law College, the data reads that 75% of females and 25% of males are accepted into each school. This is similar to the case that we have now. In the end, statistics are all just numbers that we can munipulate to say what we want them to say.
Sorry, i bet no one really cared about that.

Considering you still compete in cs and I don't. Then I come ring for your clan and rape everyone (ff was on). Then in our 3 v 3's i'd be the mad clutch master. Then who came to me and asked if I wanted to join them and furious in making a new clan??? Also, on the hlstats I killed you in csr 3 times as many times as you killed me. That last one right there proves how much better I am because I killed you more times in csr!!!! O O O, but at eoa I could shoot at the ground and miss, so maybe now with the power i've put into the dkt pad, maybe now. Also, i'd beat you in any rts game. Who wants to play me in the origanal warcraft spearmen + demons> all of you. Who remembers black rock spire? The black morass? The original c&c nod vs. gdi. Oh yes, rts4life.
