I had a list on the old CSR of all the places that were handy resources for a Half-Life server admin. I'm starting to recreate the list here. Chances are that if you need something having to do with HLDS, it's listed here. There are even things you probably didn't even know you could do with a CS server.

- www.hlsw.net -- HLSW. Windows utility that's handy for players and admins alike. Allows you to monitor a server in real-time with players, kills, map, timeleft, ping, isntalled plugins, etc. It also allows rcon access to a server for remote administration. A real gem.

- http://fixedsys.com/context -- ConTEXT. An absotutely incredible programming-tuned free text editor for Windows. Blows Notepad out of the water.
- http://www.telefragged.com/wally/ -- Wally. A Windows utility for creating .wad files, among other things. Useful when creating custom sprays.
- --SCRIPTING--
- http://www.adminmod.org/index.php?go=ascript/news -- AScript. Source for AdminMod plugins and information on the Small language they are written in.
- --METAMOD--
- http://www.adminmod.org -- AdminMod. *The* metamod plugin. Allows admins to police and manage your server. Also provides a powerful scripting feature to extend it's capabilities. (See AScript.)
- http://metamod.org/ -- Metamod. A library for HL (and mod) servers that allows people to "hook" the internal function calls of Half-Life and modify their behavior. Pretty much every other server add-on out there is a Metamod plugin, like AdminMod.

I had over 40 links the last time, but I haven't spent the time to try to re-create all of them this time around yet. www.unitedadmins.com <>The best resource for admins of hlds servers worldwide. Their forums have some very knowledgable staff, and some very helpful members. You can find help on anything from basic hlds, vac, to plugins like metamod/adminmod/amxmod/hlguard (they make it)/statsme(again they make it)/cheatingdeath(again they make it)/clanmod (you guessed it they make it)/and a slew of other things.
Also, for hlds administration you should join the valve hlds list appropriate for the os on the server machine your hlds is on.... list.valvesoftware.com
Those are the main two I can think of for right now....
