anti-static protection

these wonderful monitor cleaner wipes have just about wiped off the anti-static coating on my $150 monitor screen. everytime i turn the monitor on and off i can HEAR the static building up now, its getting that much static build up now.
short of needing to buy a new monitor, what can i do to stop it from collecting static? and how much damage is now being done to my monitor?

Something like this. It's a 3m filter. I wouldn't know, but maybe somebody who does could tell you if it would help you or not.
