guess what i have another dumb question. Now that i oviously have steam...can i delete all of Half-Life Counterstrike?? or do i need that to run steam? b/c Half-Life Counterstrike is taking up 576 MB while steam is taking up 1,115 MB. And i obviuosly only use steam to play cs...so can i remove the "Half-Life Counter-Strike" from my comp? thanks

since i was able to install steam without having counterstrike installed, i would presume that you can.

There was a option when I installed Stream to remove the old Counter Strike files/folders. I selected yes and my CS still works and cleared up 1gig worth of old data. I'd say make sure you have you skins/screenshots/configs all backed up first though if you are going to remove it.

you will notice while the old CS is probably installed to c:\sierra\half-life\cstrike (or something of that nature)
steam is installed to the program files dir and 1.6 is installed under that steam DIR... so your old folder is virtually useless unless you play to play 1.5 still...
like scrappy said.. the option was there during installation.. but i think the default value was to keep the files..
