I stumbled across this at forumplanet, not sure if its any use cos I know NOTHING about this side of things!! You may or may not know about it but I thought I'd post just incase.

for those lazy ppl:
get sv_downloadurl to your webspace.
Example: sv_downloadurl "http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff"

At your webspace you will to mirror the structure of the cstrike folder
Example:

Your server uses the non-standard map "de_generic", which requires the following files:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.address\Counter-Strike\cstrike\maps\de _generic.map
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.address\Counter-Strike\cstrike\de_gene ric.wad
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.address\Counter-Strike\cstrike\sound\a mbience\de_generic_a.wav
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.address\Counter-Strike\cstrike\sound\a mbience\de_generic_b.wav
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.address\Counter-Strike\cstrike\sound\a mbience\de_generic_c.wav

with sv_downloadurl set to "http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff" the files must be web-accessible as:
http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/maps/de_generic.map
http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/de_generic.wad
http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/sound/ambience/de_generic_a.wav
http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/sound/ambience/de_generic_b.wav
http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/sound/ambience/de_generic_c.wav

Supposedly you can also have a custom banner file (340x56 pixels) at http://www.mywebsite.com/cs_stuff/gfx/banner.gif but as yet that doesnt seem to be working.

NOTE: the maximum length of sv_downloadurl is 127 characters

I've already uploaded all the necessary files for sv_download (except thunder is the wrong version - easy to fix though). Porter was having some sort of trouble getting the server configs to 'accept' the changes or something.
