Game Recap
« on: February 29, 2004, 09:09:15 PM »

Thanks to all who participated in the Admin game. Lots of fun was had by all! And now for the recap:
The first map featured cs_office. I will dub this game "Bayne vs the Admins" as Bayne went 25-6 and totally dominated the admins. Game score ended with Regulars: 12, Admins: 3. MVP goes to Fotty for actually being able to kill Bayne a couple times.
The second map featured de_inferno, and another attempt for the admins to recover some lost ground. While not as embarrassing, the admins again lose with a final score of Regulars: 11, Admins: 8.
The third map featured the official release of cs_reloaded_b3, and needless to say, with the three map makers on the same team (and knowing the map very well), the Admins dominated 19-9.
Final scores: Regulars 32, Admins 30. Expect more Admin games in the near future, as everyone had a good time!

Just want to thank the Admins for being Admins and for setting this game up. It was a blast.

there will no doubt be more games in the future, and I think this one was a good starting point to work out some of the things that didnt go exactly to plan with this game.
I think biggums has demos? Can you post them?

I am still punching myself for being unable to participate.
I am eagerly anticipating the rematch. From the few minutes I was able to watch, I could see that it was a blast for all who were playing. I think that an Admin hunting event should be held monthly.

i know porter mentioned it to me last night.. but we could make this, or something like it, a weekly (or monthly) thing.. sorta like how csreview had their friendly fire fridays. if you're willing to help fotty (since you did alot to help for this event) we could try to organize more games like this in the future

I think this might also open the opportunity to play good sized games on custom maps. Since it's kind of pot luck to get a decent number of players on a custom map during the rotation, it would give us a chance to develop cs_reloaded into a map that the community knows how to play.
If we do organise more of these then holding them an hour or so earlier would be much appreciated...

I'm in for helping to organize whatever needs to be organized. Weekly may run into lots of no shows.. but if we do monthly, then there is a better chance to plan things out and people can make time to be there.

I like the idea of a monthly thing, since it is means more if everyone has time to get excited about it.
How does the last day of every month sound? That would ensure that it falls on a different day of the week every time, so people who already have regular scheduals of commitments dont miss it every time. Also, so that other people will have to miss it some of the time, which is good in this case, since there is more people who will want to participate than the server can handle, effectively mixing the players up a bit for us.
Oh, and also, the team that wins, should get admin privlages for the next month.

except for that last part..that all sounds good terraji
i think the best part of these games in my opinion was that we did get to play b3 in a big party game. i know we had a 10v10 for b1..but b2 never got as high. cs_reloaded is definitly a big party map

That was a blast on all maps and cs_reloaded played really nice with 2 full teams. We definitely need to make this at least a monthly function.
Why did it seem like everytime I turned around Fotty was chasing me with a knife

One of the all time funniest moments of TV history - I couldn't resist Unlike slight who appreciated the sound in its proper environment, Deuce cheated and listened to the .wav file before we'd even started Shame on you Deuce. Shame.
If anyone has any other ideas for sound effects, fire away. The two answerphones are the only ones currently.

Porter's office could have one of those handheld tape recorders on the desk and when you use it, it plays back him preaching the many benefits of being a mAc user instead of a pc user.......

well like i said... if possible.. put some NPC people in the map.. not sure if this is possible since really no CS map features them... it would be cool to have random non hosties in the map... HL had it... i dont know why CS cant??

you can. I personally don't know how, but there is a map called de_deadlock (i believe) that has NPCs. The map takes place in amsterdam and there are some hoo.... girls hanging around outside and they talk dir.... say hello when you fond.... touch them. They don't act like hosties, and you can shoot them.
In this old server I used to play in, we had a thing called freaky friday, where we'd have a theme night every other friday where your ingame name has to follow some theme and we play crazy custom maps. It was alot of fun. And the person with the most frags at the end of the night gets to choose the next events theme.

The guys who made de_deadlock are some of the best CS mappers in the world and even then the girl models in the map are still somewhat buggy.
