BZ Flag!

So we found this highly entertaining new game called BZ Flag. It's cross-platform and supports up to like, 64 players in game. I've started a server on my Mac that we're all playing on right now.

Download (Windows)
Just so nobody gets left out, there's a Mac client and a linux package too!
Launch the game and join the server at icabbit.csreloaded.com (69.219.133.209). <-- The server is now running on iCabbit! Note the new IP!
Controls are simple.
The OnScreen help will tell you the rest.

Oh yeah, the range of graphics options available covers everything from Radeon 9000s on the high end to drawing on a chalkboard at the low end. It'll run on just about anything. The server is actually running on my Mac right now too. I'm working on setting up a more permanent home for it on iCabbit though.

That was probably a firewall rule. As soon as I know I'm going to have a free night I'll plan a test game. As I said before, I'm still working on learning how to host and admin this new server type. CS is a piece of cake for me now, but bzfs (BZFlag Server) is kinda different.

Okay big news! I got a dedicated server running on iCabbit! The initial post has been updated to reflect this!
I wanna try to get a game going tonight. Say, 8 PM Central? That's 9 PM for most of you. Come try this game out! C'mon this is good clean fun!

We had an awesome game going. Just stopped actually. It got up to 6v6 there for a bit. Totally insane.

lol. Yeah they're tricky buggers like that. I'm working on a live stats page for the bzlfag server so you'll know when people are in.
Too bad whoever wrote the one I started with did such a bad job handling sockets in PHP. I have a good abstraction class I can use, but I need to port the entire script over. I hate reading raw sockets. In my opinion, game servers should always implement http status ports.
