Recon Gamer is pleased to inform our customers that the issue between two upstream carriers causing high latency for Comcast Cable users and several other ISP's routed through AT&T, has been resolved as of Wednesday, November 16th. This issue primarily effected Comcast Cable users during the late evening hours, and was the result of oversaturated peering connections between AT&T and Cogent. As of earlier this afternoon, additional peering capacity (an OC-48) was turned up between these two providers in Northern Virginia which effectively eliminated the problem. Additional capacity is also being turned up across the country to further reduce and eliminate the strain on existing peering connections between these two providers.
Users on the Comcast Cable network connecting to our Virginia datacenter should see an immediate improvement and normalization in latency.

Not that it has really affected us, but it might just explain why some of you have been complaining of consistent lag for a long time. Maybe we can get a good game going this weekend to test it out?

Okay, I'm thinking Saturday afternoon? Say, around 2 PM Eastern tentatively? That should be early enough for Grounded. Yuna's going to be busy in the morning, but I think she'll be back by then. I'll make sure she has a look at this thread today.

I'm sadly working 10 hour shifts friday (today) and saturday. However, I wanted to let you Porter and Yuna know that we are planning another bowling get together sunday around dinner time.

2pm = 7pm here, which is fine with me, but you can push that forward a few hours if you want. I suppose it doesn't matter so much given that it'll be Saturday  I would try and compile de_flow_b4...but I doubt I'd get it done in time

Slight chaneg of plans on this end. Turns out my parents are coming to visit for the day, which means I have to entertain. As much as I wish that meant, "throw some cheetos and a dvd at them and play Counter-Strike," it doesn't. I *think* they're in town for something else though too, so maybe I'll get off the hook early. I'll keep you informed. For those of you who don't check this first: have fun playing... oh, right about now I guess. For those of you who do, I'll (we'll) be on at 8PM Eastern.
