Another User Pruning Coming Up!

Hey all. I'm going to be cleaning out the users database again in a week or so (figure April 3rd). That means anyone who hasn't logged in in the past two months is going to have their account deleted!
That's not really a huge problem since you can always reregister, but I'm giving you all the chance to save your accounts anyway. There is a list of users slated for removal. If your username is on that list and you don't want to lose your account, all you have to do is log in sometime during the next 7 days.

Porter, out of random curiosity, why did you pick now to prune said database? As dead as things are is this an attempt to stir things up?
The reason I ask, is I see some sad losses there...
Alkali, Darkmage, Ribs, Fotty, Labete, Nick Wild, Nittany, Pancho, PK, and Zeus to name a few.
On the lighter side though, I will also miss:
x(<:CsC:>)x, Eni, and portertest...those guys were great

I try to do maintenance like this once or twice a year, and I've been busy so it's been longer than usual already.
The main reason I want to do it is exactly because it's slow. Right now we supposedly have 90-some-odd members, but hardly a third of those are active. I want that number to be more representative of the current usage.
Plus, it speed up my backups.

Pancho is in the same UK clan as me and JB and he's fairly active on their forums, but he gets almost no time to play these days and when he does it's well before GMT->EST times become feasible

I'm not seeing it as such a big deal. I mean if those guys want to come around to CSR they can and it's not like it takes a whopping amount of time to set up an account if they had to do it again. Dunno, I guess I just feel if they haven't taken an interest in that long why not get rid of the account.

HA HA! Just testing to see if you noticed!
I do wish to spend more time here, been fighting off a severe case of WoW addition, coupled with a night job that keeps me constantly tired and mentally foggy. Don't be afraid to send me an email from time to time, I like to keep track.
PS: For those turn-based gamers out there, Galactic Civilizations 2 is the new Moo2! I've spend more time just designing ships than actually playing the game. Great fun!.

Nice to hear from your Ribs! Sorry about the job. In fact, sorry about that WoW thing too! 
In case it hadn't already been noticed, I haven't actually done the users pruning yet. I've been working on upgrading my Mac at home to Tiger and need to get my MySQL backup utilities installed so I can archive the forum DB before performing the backup.

The "@mail.ru" domain has been banned from registration. If these are legitimate users, they are of course welcome to stay.
If on the other hand someone has found a hole is YaBB (which is possible since this a slightly out-of-date version) this should plug this particular problem for the time being. Time to get back to work on building an SMF template to match the rest of the site!
