Love those effects, the more real the better!  Was playing on another server only because CSR was full and noticed blood squirting out of a guy.  He was hiding behind a box and just the blood  was seen pumping from SOMEBODY?
Needless to say I had to help a comrad out and put him out of his misery with a HE grenade, hee hee, KABOOM!
Now I know our server does not aloow swearing but the gore level what should that matter we are killing eachother?  It's how we kill eachother thats important, with pleases and thank-you's right!  The blood to me makes it more real, following trails, indicators to were your enemy is, I know the real guys bleed so what is the problem!

I occasionaly play on a few servers like that.  I wouldnt really like it because once your inder like 20 health the blood just keeps gushing and it makes you an easy target.  Just because your health is low doesnt mean you should be easy to spot because a non stop stream of blood is comming out.  Its sometimes cool to see, but annoying in the end.

Com on thr realism is the point isn't it!!!  If you just got filled wsith slug's you still have the option of running which is also unrealistic!  Even ther you should not be able to run add that mod with it.  You should be an easy spot, your bleeding out!  Vietcong has guys who can be medics and heal you, that's real!  You are vunerable while getting healed but that's how it really would be.  Give an adrenaline rush of life for a period if the wounded guy get a kill!  MAKE IT REAL!

the bloods ok, but it gets annoying.  It also gives away your position, as if u are trying to hide, blood will squirt out of u and people can see it, they can also follow the trail.  Why don't u just get the hit counter that tell yous the damage u do right when u shoot someone, wait just give everyone wall hacks caus thats what that is,  Blood like that= stupid idea

I just thought it ws more realistic, in the real world you could follow a blood trail, right Biggy?  The squirting part is a little over the top thoufgh I agree with that because you'd be dead in real life not able to run and still shoot squirting 4 quarts a second!

I think it hurts gameplay.  It is like that script where if you hit someone it would say the damage.  Then you just shoot walls until you find them and wall them.  This is even worse in some situations.

Real world if I unload my gun into you of course I am going to follow you to finish you off!  I think it should go even one step further, if your wounded and your HP goes down to a certain point you should not be able to run or jump!

I'm with Nittany on this.  The realism thing is something we've battered around on these forums for yonks.  CS strikes a pretty decent balance between gameplay and realism. It uses it's selective realism to make the game better.  The inclusion of the labouring and gory details mentioned would make it tiresome.  It's the gameplay that satisfies so many punters, not the realism - this is why so many people ditch games like SoF and VC after a short spell and always come back to the likes of Quake and HL.

Oh yeah!  No way that does not even come close to VC Biggum's like three vs. a nine!  VC is really realistic, aim with site of gun bringing it up, the visual when running joggles, sound is amazing, lay down, crouch, peek around corners, long distant visuals, moving water, water spray from shots in water, the list goes on and on.

The spade kill in DoD is even more prestigious than the knife kill in CS. There was mucho celebration when I spaded my first guy over the head. Of course I haven't played DoD since then - don't want to spoil the record

I'd say it is much much much easier to shovel/knife/net/johnny swipe someone is dod then it is to knife in cs.  People are always camping and tunnel visioned in dod.  They are also locked into positions like prone and can't do much about you running up and hitting them.

Grounded i cant even count how many times you've attempted to knife me and failed. Maybe next time you see either off us you should throw down the knife and just take it like a man, at least make your death more worth wild rather then attempting to try and knife either of us.

I have that game, its only fun when you actually have people working together as a team. For example the one map I played at a lan we were trying to hold the spawn point and air planes kept bombing us, then looking at the entrance of the town a convoy of enemy tanks came rolling in!

Adam you are right about 1942, you are usually by yourself, that's why I always get in a tank!  We should play sometime, you and I in a plane or a jeep or a tank, together!  Sounds so romantic doesn't it!
Yo, I need a yell out too my boy Scarr, I helped him last night with a knifing!  I was turning around to run from Bayne who was coming across the bridge!  I think I got turned and possibly a step and a half only to PLUNGE myself onto Scarr's Knife, ewf that hurt!

Eni, I don't have it, but Far Cry has gotten very good reviews.  The main negative is the stupid waypoint save system that should be relagated to console gaming.  The good news is that the game is a graphics hog, and with your system you should be able to count the grains of sand on the beach.  It's an editor's choice for most gaming publications.

only ok? I would buy it in an instant if my computer could run it half decent. I also read that a patch will be released where you can save whenever and wherever you want.

I played Far Cry on LAN with my bro and a bunch of french people.  It was rather fun, I was very impressed with the graphics and I could play it pretty well with just my CS experience.

Thanks Ribs, my fear is like Vietcong's grahics are amazing it limits the people.  The amount of servers for VC and the high ping really make it tough to make the investment.  I did go look at the screen pics, whoa that was impressive!

Looking forward to half life II and Halo II!  Read a recent review on Halo II from one of my gaming subscriptions.  The guys said they only got to play one map, capture the flag.  They said nothing is revolutiuonary just plain good old Halo.  New things you jump higher with a little gravity feel, warthog has a missle launcher, power ups in neat hiding places, draw bridge in a cave type thing.  New hit program you react the way your being hit, a new double blade sword that has a one hit kill when fully charged, bad guys have different capabilties, jump higher and such, you can play bad guys also! And for clans you can put a clan mark on your armor, way cool!
