It's a simple question. Which do you perfer we use? VAC or Cheating Death in optional mode?

I voted CD ONLY for the client side applications. I think VAC does an excellent job outside of driver hacks

As far as I know VAC and CD cannot be run concurrently on the same server. Does this not mean that we need to choose just one of the above solutions?

CD all the way.
But people seem to have trouble setting it up (don't ask how on earth it's possible, but they do.), so if possible have some sort of walk-thru on how to set it up...
Anyways, I think CD is great except when it's required....people seem to be too lazy to get it sometimes.

Server side I can install CD at the drop of a hat, I just need to know what people think and which they perfer, CD or VAC.

I have no idea which one works better as far as weeding out the undesirable.
I like that CD is constantly updated so my vote goes to CD

Only problem I have noticed with CD is that when a new player trys to connect they don't have any idea how to install it or run it or update it.
Now I know we can put something in that tells them what to do. But honestly half of them won't read it and will just leave to play somewhere else.
Now for anti-cheat it looks pretty good but I personally would rather have something that auto updates and that users don't have to run on there Pc's. Only because I like to make it easier for the new players/new to CS players.

Agreed, we will get a larger population if it is easier for them. I believe that it will be better for the community if the players can just jump on to the server without worrying about d/ling another program. When paladin arived, noone knew how to use it and put it on, people just left the server I played on, therefore the server took it off, gained population again, and eventually, paladin died

I'm again agreeing with scrappy and holygrail.
it goes back to the not seen and not heard deal. if you are running it on your computer, it is both, seen and heard, imho.

I dont look forward to having the [NO-CD] tag and tehn once I get it have my normal name. But then it updats and then I get the [OLD-CD] Tag... ahaahha

It could be worse then just a tag.
I was on a server the other day that had it just to see what it did.
Anyways long story short if you didn't have it installed or if it wasn't up to date. As soon as you tried to shoot someone or someone tried to shoot you it would auto kill you over & over & over. Lots of not gg with that.
Wow I'm glad someone else seen it how I did:)
Oh and its not hard to hack CD. I was playing and some guy was like "CD doesn't detect anything". He then proceeded to hack and well CD didn't detect anything. Oh and yeah i know no anti-cheat software is perfect. Just saying that CD is hackable so its not like its better then anything else.

my vote goes to CD
my reason is playing on kort with the server name CD required is much better then having to serch for servers without hackers. and when u do find one, chancer are in the furute there will be hackers.

I say load up CD, but not optional, make it mandatory. As long as its only optional anyone with [NO-CD] tags could still be hacking. CD detects 99% of all known hacks. Unfortunately, Vac isnt doing so well. But you do have ppl like me out there hunting down hacks and hack sites, and turning them in to both UA and Valve so that updated detections can be added to the software....8)
Example: Last night/today vac updated again, some of the new detections are for hacks that were turned in by yours truely a few days ago

Yeah stealth got a link for the new CD? so maybe we can clear up the silly idea that allied hax? i don't know anything about it, but if you think it will be good enough proof i'm more than willing to try it.

No offence but CD is hackable. I can produce a few pages that name the hacks that will get though it if nessary.
I still think that anyone that is accused of cheating should install VNC on there computer and let a admin take a look 
Thats why I'm not a admin though hehe

I really think VAC and our Admin Team are enough for now, with the possibility of adding CD at any time. Are cheaters and hackers really that bad on the server? Do we really not trust our admins that much?

I agree Vac and the admins is probably a really good start I personally would stay away from CD as previously stated.
I trust anyone here in a admin position simply because if they are admins trying to set examples they obviously know better then to hack.

And while MANY hacks boast they are cd proof, thats all they are are boasts. Only TWO hacks get pass cd atm. One is a lambert based aimbot, the other is a cheesy script that drops your reticle down when you fire (for a cheesy no recoil type hack). All others I can assure you ARE detectable. VAC however, is a lil slow in the game. They are behind the development team for CD far as newer hacks are concerned. I mean yeah, people like me are in the community submitting newer hacks as we find them to both Valve and CD dev team, but it seems CD updates faster then vac. But no worries cs 1.6 is coming out in 2 WEEKS! With it a new improved VAC. And a ban length UP TO 6 MONTHS FOR EVEN ONE SINGLE HACK BEING DETECTED!!!!
Far as Allied the other day....I was mistaken, after the scan was checked nothing out of the ordinary was "hooked". So if you see him direct him here please. I am sorry for accusing you of hacking Allied, I was wrong.
